I liked it. Especially Casey being the uninvited guest. Like when he smashed the DVD player and Mike gasp/screamed. The foot tech ninjas were also pretty cool.

You should probably put "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" in the threads topic name.

This was definitely the best episode I've seen so far. Great action, we got to see a LOT of the Shredder and Hun. Raphael was tortured, invisible cyborg ninjas, not to mention LEONARDO finally got to use his swords against a human......yeah it was just to disable the cloaking device, but still.....

I feel pretty damn bad for Stockman, but I really can't believe that an american saturday morning cartoon has the main bad guy ripping out his henchmens eye (granted we never see it take place, but still) as failure. Lord only knows what happened to Stockman after today, I'm actually starting to think maybe Shredder DID kill that Purple Dragon guy. If that's the case, Kudos to FoXbOx for havin balls.

"Cloaking devices? What are they? Klingons?" I'm sure some Star Trek fan will love that. Casey was definitely the only drawback to this episode, not only was he annoying as hell with that voice, but even his actions were annoying. He acted like a 5 year old throughout the entire episode.........damn Jones.

I thought this was a very good episode. It was funny to see the way they portrayed Casey as being annoying and an unwelcome guest. The pacing of the storyline was well done also.

at the end the way they showed a glimpse of shredder's enemies was awesome.

This was an alright and average episode. Nothing really special in this one. I kinda wish that Casey Jones wasn't so exposed in the series, but is fine I suppose. All these episodes seem to lead up to the big Shredder two parter, so we are all waiting for Shredder to finally get in that costume.

I wonder if Baxter Stockman was taken away to be later turned into a fly or just tormented or taken an eye out or something...

another great ep: some good street action and some comedy to boot.
TMNT makes Saturday mornings worth waking up to.

nice teaser at the end as well. we're starting to see more pieces to the Shredder puzzle: such as Who are those "people" at the end? DON'T ANSWER THAT QUESTION!!!!! SPOILERS RUIN EVERYTHING!!!!!!!

I was surprised that Stockman had his eye ripped out. This is really dark for a Saturday morning T.V. show, and I like it! :p Now we know what happens to people who mess with Shredder.

My vote for funniest line in the ep:

MIKEY: And that's how they got rid of (spooky voice) The Thing that Wouldn't Leave!

Haven't posted in this thread in a while (considering I spent the last three weeks trying to catch up with "Meet Casey Jones", "Nano" and the first one this morning with the sword), but today's episode was definately great. Casey driving the Turtles crazy when he kept dropping in the place was somewhat funny. But of course, the actions of the Foot keep getting better and more creepy by the episode. Hun's torturing Raphael, Baxter losing his eye (and no, I doubt he will ever turn into a fly, since that wasn't in the original comic), the invisible Foot and of course, Oroku Saki. (I really don't want to call him Shredder until it truely is time) Considering how bumbling the villains were in the original series, it is great to see them actually as meanacing. And the ending....

I know I shouldn't be asking or putting this up, but were those guys the Ultroms?

This episode was pretty good. I like how the managed to show what happended to Baxter after being unable to deliver "the goods" to Shredder. He's certianly A force to be reconded with compared to when he was reduced to A sorry bit player following Krang's orders in the original cartoon. I like that. It makes Shredder more menacing. I also like Baxter's ninja robots. They remind me of the old foot soldiers, but more powerful, and cutting edge. Can't wait to see who those three people are next week.

This was anther great episode besides Ninja Storm this is the only only think I watch on Saturday mornings. I loved this episode from the very start with Casey not leaveing almost all my friends are like this. I geuss I was the only one who caught the old Turtle show refrance calling the turtles "Karate Frogs" (The Four mutant Frogs that lived in Florida) and "Geckos" (Mondo Gecko). The fights were pretty good and it was nice seeing Hun speak and take action for once. I'm still shocked to see what happenedto Baxter never thought Fox Box would soemthing like that. Now I wonder what Sakis "enemies" will be doing to the Turtles and why are they enemies to Saki?

Great episode as usual. I think this is the first time where I liked the humor more than the action elements. Correct me if I am wrong but didn't Raphael and Casey Jones exchange insults in the movie as well?

4 1/2 stars.

"You're the geek camel breath."
"Dome head!"
"Ack! Elf lips!"
"Okay let's see if we can get this thing going.......what are we on?"
"F"
"Fungoid"
"Here it hoes Gak face!"
"I'm ready hose brain!!"

Unfortunately, that was Donny and Casey, not Raph and Casey, it was during April's lil talk about how every turtle dealt with the loss of splinter in his own way. Of course, she never even MENTIONS poor Mikey.

Just says Don latched on to Casey and Leo stands a constant vigil over Raph. Poor Mikey, as if he doesn't get treated crappy enough in the new series....

Well I'm guessing since they all had the same voice..that these people were puppets being used by the alien race that created the Turtle's transport thingee, who ironically are the alien race that Krang came from. That's my guess and I'm confident it's right though.

I find it hard to find any fresh criticisms for this show, as it has consistently wowed me every week, and this episode was no different. I loved the training scene in the beginning, it really shows the turtles as ninjas, and not just hyperactive teenagers like they were in the original. Casey's unwelcome visit was good for a few laughs, and I think the voice acting is beginning to improve, as other characters like Casey, Baxter, Saki, and Hun get extended screen time and dialogue this time. And Baxter losing his eye surprised me too - not simply because foxbox approved something like that for their saturday morning "kiddie" lineup, but because it shows that continuity wise, even the smallest details matter. Saki hauling away Baxter at the end of ep3 was not just an idle threat or cliched dramatic tension - it has real consequences. It also makes me doubt the survivial of the dragon guy from ep1, since the show is now giving us new dragon thugs every episode, instead of recycling the same four or five over and over. Finally, I noticed an improvement in animation this time. More solid like the first two episodes, instead of the slightly cheaper stuff we've been getting lately.

My only complaint is about the foot-tech ninjas. First off, I was slightly disappointed that they weren't the straw-hat wearing guys, whom I've been waiting to see. But mainly, once the turtles cut through their cloaking devices, they were taken out as easily as the dragons. What happened to their enhanced strength, or their normal ninja training, even?

BTW, does it annoy anyone else that they're so many commercials in the series? To compare, JL has two, one after the titles and another midway. TMNT has three, with the last one coming in five min before the show ends. The running time may be the same, but I'd rather they just end the show early and air commercials afterwards, instead of having to contrive another cliffhanger for the third commercial break. Really ruins any chance of developing the stories when you keep breaking things up.

I agree. I'm not sure why Cartoon Network decided to be different than most other networks with the commercial breaks. It works great for anime, though. The Fox Box goes with the "stretch it out as much as you possibly can" approach (for all shows, not just TMNT)...

I really liked this episode. I'd say it's the best of the series so far. Very enjoyable, with plenty of not-too-corny humor and action. Casey Jones was funny when he kept wrecking furniture -- hopefully they'll keep emphasizing that he's dangerous as well.
I think the real test of this show will come when Shredder dons the outfit, Baxter becomes a fly-mutant, etc...

Yeah, the Commercial breaks in this series really annoy me. Depending on the show, three or four at most. But if you take out the commercials and intro, the show clocks in at around 20 minutes, same as the orignial series syndicated run. Should be fixed during the DVD release...

But after finally seeing these two episodes, two good ones in a row. Episode 8 looks like filler, but it dosn't seem like it's going to be as fun as Nano was. Never did care for wrestling stories...

Another great episode!

I agree with that. I really liked the humor that was in this episode. Raph & Casey's namecalling. Mike explaining to Splinter who Casey was.

Mike: This is the psych-, I mean the guy we were talking to you about.

And I really didn't expect Raph to go below the belt with Hun.

Hun: So where did you get such sharp weapons?
Raph: Your mama. :p

Anyway I was really surprised at what happened to Baxter. God knows what they are gonna do to him now. Shredder just seems to be acting more bada** every time I watch an ep.

So "the treatment" is just loosing your eye? Thats harsh for a kids show. I wonder what they will do to him next time. Cut his legs off? And how could technological advanced super strength robots become as weak as little girl scouts when they get their cloaking devices smashed or some mud in there face? Thats pathetic. And I loved Raph telling Hun "Your Mama"!. :D As for Casey, he went way over the edge with stupidity and ineptly by destroying everything in the hideout and being "The Thing that wouldn't Leave". :p Other than that it was yet another great episode. Next weeks is underground cage fighting? I'd rather watch UFC.

I thought this episode wouldn't be shown, since Fox did cut in briefly with a news conference about the war 10 minutes into the rerun of last week's ep. Glad I was wrong.

I'm continually amazed at what they've been able to get away with on this show so far, (Baxter getting his eye ripped out,) but it makes for great storytelling, and I shudder to think of what body part he'll lose next. You'd never have seen this in a Sat. morning toon 10 years ago. Casey wore out his welcome very quickly as the unwanted guest, this got a little annoying, as he seemed too oblivious to notice how obnoxious he was acting. Oroku Saki really feels like an actual threat, as opposed to the comic relief type he became in the later episodes of the earlier toon.

As for next week, maybe Cudley the Cowlick will be mentioned somewhere, since the Turtles did the wrestling thing in the (Archie) comics. Very good episode overall.

Y'know, I'd really like to believe that Ralph set up the whole 'unwanted guest' thing with Casey beforehand so he'd be allowed to visit the surface.

Great episode. Still shocked that they took out Baxter's eye!
Although I was a bit dissapointed in the way that they took out the Foot-tech ninjas... I was hoping that since they're robotic, the turtles could just cut loose and rip them to shreds. Well... maybe another episode.

those ninjas weren't robots...they were regular foot ninjas with cool, strength enhancing body armor, is all.

How do you tell the difference between a Foot Ninja and a ROBOT Foot Ninja?

(That sounds like the beginning of a really bad joke... but I'm serious. I really want to know.)

Also, what do you guys think of that guy at the end of the episode? The one with the sideburns who was talking all mysterious to those weird unison alien dudes?

As of now, there are no robot ninjas. All the ninjas in the new series are human; the ones that can turn invisible recieved the special suits made from that armor they fished out of the water in episode 6. Whereas in the old series, ALL the ninjas were robots.

So they are humans enhanced with mechanical parts, and the proper word for that is 'cyborg', not 'robot.'

Well they're not cyborgs either. A human is someone made completely of flesh and bone. A robot is something made completely of gears, circuits, and metals. A cyborg is when you graft the two together (the Terminator, Smythe from the Spider-Man series). In this case, the ninjas just wore their enhancements. It wasn't surgically bonded to them.

i still, you know, wish krang could come back, and bring bebop and rocksteady into the new tmnt universe via gen experiments.

and maybe mona lisa, too, should exist, and have a big role in it...

just not that 5th girl turtle, noo, she wasn't really fitting in. :/

i wish i didnt' have to work on saturday mornings :/

Thought this was an entertaining episode: Casey Jones' bits, Ralph's trash-talking, and cybernetically-enhanced ninja-thugs--erm, "Foot Soldiers(TM)"---make it all worthwhile.

Somewhat off-topic, but: too bad TTA's not still in production...guessing we'd see Plucky go berserk over "Immature Radioactive Samauri Slugs" updated for 2003 (PLUCKY: Awesome! The Iodizer's back, and he's kewler than ever! Didja see the way he iodized that poor lackey's eye, huh, didja, huh, huh, didja?!) ;-)

Think Batman Beyond-suit. Pretty much the same concept.
