I've got a scanner! yay!
Well I plugged my scanner in yesterday and started having some fun. so for my first drawing board presentation I've decided on a fun little drawing I call:
Bilbo Baggins of Bag End. (http://image1ex.villagephotos.com/pubimage.asp?id_=1778709)
If you haven't read the Hobbit I don't expect to appreciate the drawing as much. :D
Honest comments please.

Aww, how cute! And not that bad. I for one have had a tough time with sketching Bilbo's abode. It's so unusual and has so much small details to it, plus it's positioning is a bit awkward. But your perception was relatively okay, nice job!

I like the central position Bilbo within the image. I think that really works. Again, the eye is drawn from all directions to Bilbo's funny smile! lol, yeah the feet are great!

That's cute! Nice job on The Hill and the door, and very detailed! Since you now have a scanner, why not try painting it on the comp? Not to push you or anyhting, I don't even have a scanner. Nice job and I hope to see more of your stuff!

Glad every one thinks it looks okay. I was going to color but decided I liked the semi dark shaded look. And on the feet, I have to admit I cheated a little. I didn't want to try any toes so I used the hair to cover that up. At first I thought his smile was kidna dumb looking and I was going to erase and do another one but then I decided the goofy look was funny. I should have some more stuff up in the following days.
Later.

Hobbits are normally goofy and funny, so it fits! And it's not really cheating for the feet, just a fun way to work around something while still getting off a great effect. Besides, you normally can't see their toes all that much!

Any chance of some colour next time! Great to see your stuff! And hey, we all cheat... SK can atest to that on some of my hands I drew from the WF comic in which she had to finish... *guilty*

Well I may buckle under the pressure and do a colured version. We'll see. And if anyone is wondering I based Bilbo's clothes and some of his features on Tolkien's scetch of Bilbo which can be found in most good copies of the Hobbit. It's in the last chapter I believe. I think the main problem with the drawing is I had to cram the Hill in because of my paper size.

Hey DarkKnight, looks good. Bilbo looks just as cute as he did in the movie. :) I would suggest working on your angles and perspective, though. I can definitely understand what the picture is showing, but based on the angles of the ground, trees, etc, it would appear that the ground and the sky are actually drawn on the same plane. Aside from that, it's lookin' pretty good.
