I was wondering if there are still any companies making any new arcade games left. It looks like Namco is still in the game, and Sega still had some plans last time I checked.

Playmore aka SNK are developing a new arcadeboard for KOF 2003.

SNK, Namco, Konami, Capcom (if they don't pull out), Sega, Midway, Tecmo, and Atari are the only surviving companies left in the Arcades here in America.

Nintendo, Sega and Namco are putting out "F-ZERO AC" under their "Triforce" name. Other than that..I don't know of any arcade makers...

It better come to the states! It's the only arcade machine that lets you use a Gamecube memory card (and as far as I know, the first machine that lets you use any memory cards). Will Starfox Armada use that technology (the Namco developed title)? I can't wait for these co-developed titles. I hope Capcom teams up with Nintendo to make a Gamecube Zelda in addition to their GBA announced Zelda.

To my knowledge, Blitz 99 was the first game in America you could use your N64 memory card with. Otherwise if you imported from Japan, you found many games using memory cards and even data cards.

I remember Midway dropped out of the arcade bussiness to make console games and Atari Games became Midway Games West, then Midway killed that company last month.

Capcom will most likely drop out of the arcade scene eventually. It doesn't sound encouraging when Capcom makes over 50% of their money from console games.
