.This whole post is spoiler filled if you haven't seen last nights Buffy or Angel
Buffy- The part where Spike was trying to explain about Ben being Glory was pretty darn funny.

It was cool to see the Demon guy again. I wonder if there really was anything in the box or not? It could have been just to through them off. They thought it was worth dying for, but we saw that he didn't actually.

Willow=Badass
Some people think that she could evolve in the Big Bad next season or the next. Kind of like the dark side of the force type thing. I for one, don't really think so. It's to predictable a story line for Team Whedon.

Ben=Wimp
I know it's not fair that he didn't get a normal life, but neither did Buffy.

Here's the question I'd like you guys to answer. Actually I think I'll make a poll. Who's gonna die next Tuesday. Whedon has said someone is.

Angel=Demon
Anyone think this is reminiscent of Ann Rice's Vampires? That they're actually demons?

The Wolf, Ram, Hart thing was nicely done. I wonder if Whedon had vague plans to do something like that when he introduced the evil law firm last season. I wouldn't be surprised.

The Boosalog thing was pretty darn funny. Summoned from the scum pits, but turns out to be a hottie.

That Fred girl has been added to the cast for next season. So I guess Angel is getting a bit of a love interest.

Krevlornswath of the Deathwok clan=Dead!
Is anyone else bummed about this? The ironic thing is that Buffy was all dark, while Angel was quite a bit lighter. But then the last scene. WOW!

Wonder if he'll stay dead or not? Come on Joss, let death not be permanent in this one case. Please!

And I'm starting to get bad feelings about the UPN thing. No specific reason, but I just don't see how it could improve the shows, so what direction does that leave?

It seems to me that the Buffy season finale will seem more like a series finale. I can't wait for next week, especially after Giles closing statements before the credits popped up. As for Angel, this storyline is...weird...

Buffy The Vampire Slayer was a psychology major's dream. There was Ben, the quintessential multiple personality sufferer...the sequence where he literally argues with his female half and keeps switching back and forth from he to she was hilarious, particularly in that each time he switched Dawn got thrown about like a sack of potatoes. It was like a weird Jungian thing--animus vs. anima duking it out, and both want to kill Dawn for vastly different reasons.
There was Buffy, suffering from catatonic schizophrenia coupled with repressed desires to kill her sister and end all their misery--which caused guilt and cognitive dissonance.
Willow plays Wicca Freud, and Spike...well, it reminded me of the episode of Men in Black concerning J, time-travel and Finney's Theorum, in that the surly bloodsucker had a perspective the others lacked because he was just a harlot's hair out of whack with their wavelength.
Little wonder Spike has few friends--they're all either dead or traitorous, so he has to whack them. (Though I noticed the blow didn't quite finish the dude off.)
Willow can be quite nasty when she wants to be. Note that when Buffy's incapacitated how smoothly she takes charge, and how that low tone in her voice caused the cojones of every man in the room to simultaneously shrivel, esp. Xander's and Spike's.

Fav line in Angel: Cordelia complaining and wondering if she exudes a "komschuck me" vibe to every man and demon that crosses her path. I wonder if that'll be the new buzzword in America--just picture kids all over America's playgrounds and schoolyards hollering "Komschuck you!"
When I saw Cordy's new paramour, my first thought was, "So what's the matter with this guy--is he the only uncircumscised male in his village or something?" DYN that he is referred to as a cow like Fred and Cordy...though to be proper shouldn't men be called bulls?
It seems Lorne's people have a system of government similar to England's--Parliament holds all the power and the monarch is merely a figurehead.
Great line from Lorne:"Remember when I said there was no music in my world? Wish I could say the same thing about the dancing." Note that the steps are pretty much the same in every ceremonial dance.
The sound effects guy really outdid himself in the scene where Gunn and Wes lifted the sewer grate. DYN how badly Cordy reacted when Gunn told her she'd never get her booty through the front door? Seems she has self-esteem issues....
Angel turns into a monster because on Lorne's world, he experiences pure joy and becomes addicted. Yet he didn't change when he went to bed with Darla. So...being intimate with the object of his bitterest obsession wasn't jubilio puro? Keats was right...the chase is better than the capture. Oh, my brain hurts....
If Fred is intended to be Angel's love interest, she'll have to undergo extensive counseling. Five years trapped in Lorne's world seem to have left her borderline schizophrenic...and seeing Angel rip a guy to bloody shreds couldn't have helped her.
Lorne's severed head is presented to Cordy on a platter--sort of the story of John the Baptist with the sexes reversed. Unless he's got a twin brother, I don't think he'll be singing "MacArthur Park" at the club come next Tuesday night.

"Komshuck me"-LOL

BTW-I've heard that the hilarious dancing demon dude was Joss Whedon himself.

LOL!! Ya know, I knew you'd be drooling over this most recent Buffy ep because you've mentioned your interest in psychology in past posts. I loved it too!! It's like a psych lesson, except illustrated for your viewing pleasure.

I knew something was up with Glory's transformation to her supernatural MPD! No human remembered and no human ever spoke of it! Not even on these boards!!! lol. I was flabbergasted! But now I'm glad I got an explaination. Looks like her conscience is getting to her now though, as well as Ben. Get stronger Ben, we might need you.

If we have to resort to killing Dawn (eep!), which I wondered about hypothesizing from the beginning of the key mystery's revelation, then what about an acting on the part of Dawn herself? I've seen a lot of hidden powers in "my day" (lol) so maybe she could use this key thing inside her?

But here I think we dove in too deep. I think the relation of what happened to Angel in Lorne's world is paralleled by when his face gets all bumpy (adrenaline pumps) in our world. Except in Lorne's world, Angel can't find the ballance he usually has, having a soul and all, because the properties of demonic life are different.

All in all both episodes were amazing. I think Angel's going to get a bit darker/back to normal once he learns about Lorne (damn!!). And we've got to find out what's up with these parliament dudes before they do whatever it is they plan on doing to us. Wolf-ram-hart.....I rest my case. ;-) Everyone look at those three book covers and repeat after me: "DOH!!!!" lol

Lorne was an excellent contrast to Angel's moody persona, so it's SO DAMN not cool to have him killed. But this will definitely add heat to next week.

Glory, like Darla in her vampire days, was perfectly immoral...and in both cases, the introduction of a soul caused consternation. The most poignant part was Glory's rationalization, calling destroying the universe a form of escapism akin to drugs or booze--basically she says, "Six billion people on earth and they're all sh**--and they know it!" To her, bringing about the apocolypse is doing us all a favor! Death is her gift, not Buffy's.

Whether Angel's transformation http://cwm.ragesofsanity.com/otn/angels/newangel.gif was caused by an excess of pure happiness or drinking the water, one thing remains clear: he thought it was heaven but it was just a pretty hell. Plus there's still the Fred matter...http://cwm.ragesofsanity.com/otn/glasses/1book.gif...even if they bring her back to earth she's so shellshocked she's almost as bad off as Tara.http://cwm.ragesofsanity.com/otn/tongue/lickthe.gif
I didn't see the Wolfram and Hart connection until I read it here...I always thought it was a reference to the other name of tungsten, which I presumed had some magic properties I was unaware of (like alchemy, or some horrible poison).

As for Dawn and the key within her....well, where there's a key, there's a door, and something tells me whatever lock she opens isn't the ignition of a new car. We know if Glory goes home it's bad, and if she stays it's bad. So either way they lose. Dawn had the right idea clocking Ben on the head; it's a pity she didn't hit harder. Next time....
