I was hoping that someone could repost the link to the Batman: Vengeance PS2 site. I can't remember it exactly. Oh, has anyone that's visited it been able to view the "trailer"? I was never able to for some reason. Also, is there any news on when it's coming out, or for which systems? Any news plot details or animation improvements? Thanks!

Ah, beat me to it.
Anyway, there will be CGI animated sequences written by people who worked on the show (STILL no names... drat). It looks odd, but is pretty cool. Supposedly the plot is that the Joker has faked his death and made it look like it was done by Batman out of control, so he's being hunted and the rest of his rogue's gallery is going berserk. I personally saw Poison Ivy, Mr. Freeze, Killer Croc, Harley and the Stooge Gang, and I'd be shocked if there weren't more.
Look for it sometime this fall for PS2, a bit later for Gamecube.

I can't wait for this game. By god it's about time they did a Batman game right. Last year's BB: ROTJ video game looked like an old sega game from '92/'93 with the side scrolling gameplay. That's sad considering how far video game graphics have come along in the past ten years. Though back onto Batman: Vengeance....Wonder when the release date is set for now. It was set for September 21. Now with the U.S. crisis, it could be pushed back!

It better not be!!!! That'd suck majorly. According to the site...it's now 10/16/01....not far away..exactly one month!!!
Too bad I don't own a playstation2..lol
I'll be waiting longer for the GameCube one.. :)

Where on the site does it say October 16 is the release date. It was originally set for a September release. Though I did have a feeling it would be pushed back. It probably be pushed back even further than October. Remember how long it took 'em to finally release the Superman game for N64.

Anyway, you can see it here (http://www.ubisoft.com/games/platform.php?id=6)
Top game listed, and it says "10/16/01".... :)

Huh, IGN insists that it's still coming for Gamecube (in multiple stories), and they're pretty reliable.
And I'm going by memory here, but I think the non-portable versions have Nightwing and Batgirl in them too...

Wait a second, where'd you hear it'll be coming for Gamecube? I haven't heard anything about that. But I really hope it does, I want Gamcube so much more than PS2.
Anyway, the visuals on the game look awesome. Anyone see the recent WIZARD article?

I've also heard rumors of it coming out for the Gamecube, but the only Batman game that has been confirmed as coming out for the Gamecube is Batman: Dark Tomorrow. I have a friend who has worked on the art for this. I am pretty sure the graphics will be great, but from what I hear about gameplay, I expect this will be about on par with ROTJ.

Yeah, I think a lot of people are getting confused about this. I haven't heard anything about Vengeance coming to the GC - I think people are mixing up Dark Tomorrow with Vengeance.

Oh well, I think I'll end up buying a GameCube in addition to my PS2 anyways, especially since Resident Evil is making sure GC isn't just for kids ("Arrrrg...Mmmm...Braaaaains!")
Hm, originally I had seen eb & gamestop listing it for 10/02, oh wel...2 more weeks. A lot of games are getting moved back (Soul Reaver...), I think possibly they think recent events might hurt sales since they can't advertise as much and people arne't so much in the mood.

Yeah, I may buy my first Nintendo console withthe GC. I wasn't interested in it until I saw those screens shots of the Star Wars game. The screen shots of the new RE remakes are incredible too, but since I've got all the RE games for the PS, I'm not really "dying" to get the remakes. If I see a few more games for the system that interest me, I may be adding a GC to the shelf with my PS2.

Well, IGN swears up and down that Vengence is coming to Gamecube, and they're generally highly reliable. Take that as you will.

Possible, I guess. Though I don't know why they wouldn't have a section for it up at the official game site then.

Well, there have been times when a game is released for one system, but doesn't come out on another for awhile after that on another system. I dunno, this is just what I remember seeing. It doesn't happen often, but I'm pretty sure it happens.
And what's the deal with Batman: Dark Tomorrow? I haven't ehard anything about that.

True, the game would come out later for the GC than it will for the other systems. But, as soon as the game was announced for the X-Box, they stuck a section up on the official site for it, even though there's no content in it. I would have expected them to do the same for the GC.
Don't know a lot about Dark Tomorrow myself, other than the fact that its looks really nice, but is looking only so-so in the gameplay department. Some are saying it may play like the BB:ROTJ game that came out a while back.

Microsoft's going bonkers to promote its new system... much more than Nintendo, actually. So perhaps Microsoft "strongly encouraged" (read into that as you will) Ubisoft to put a mention of it on their site, and Nintendo didn't. Remember, back when Windows 95 came out they "strongly encouraged" everyone and their dog to put "compatible with Windows 95" on their software. Or the Nintendo version has been canned and they haven't bothered to tell us... which would be silly, the game will sell on whichever system it's released on.
As for Dark Tomorrow, we know next to nothing about it, aside from that it has a groovy CGI sequence. And again, I warn... it's being made by the same people who made the ROTJ game, and that one was a complete fiasco.

I can't find the GC version for sale anywhere either, though I can easily find the PS2, X-Box, & GBA versions.
Also, it looks like the first editions of Vengeance (For PS2 at least) will be a "Collectors Edition", packed with limited edition box art and 6 "collectible" cards.

Incredible news. If both Batman Vengence and Batman Dark Tomorrow are going to (eventually) be on Gamecube, that's yet ANOTHER reason for me to buy it!! Not yet though, according to my master plan, but still to do so.
Dark Tomorrow looks incredible. I saw some screenshots a while back. I believe it has a base design from the comic, and not either animated designs? Well in any case, it look gorgeous.

Well, like I said, the graphics will look great. I haven't seen Batman, but I saw the Joker. Really evil smile on his face. It's all done as 3D skins, and the cut movies were done as motion capture. From what one of the guys who was involved in the motion capture told me, the cut movies sound like they'll look really good, too.

While skimming though the new NINTENDO POWER, a certain screengrab caught my eye..particulary the VENGENCE screengrab. It is indeed coming out for GameCube according to Nintendo Power...and according to NP...Tony Hawk 3 is coming out for it too..woooooooohooooooo! :)

Well, hopefully. Remember that monthly magazines are designed and printed a few weeks before they hit the stands, so occasionally their info is out of date. And I still haven't gotten an answer to the various e-mails I've sent. But here's hoping.
Has anybody here heard anything new about Batman:Dark Tomorrow? I know everybody has been talking about Batman:Vengeance but has anybody seen new pictures of Batman Dark tommorrow? it's due out in 2 months and I still haven't seen any new pictures, besides the trailer that was shown at E3:confused:

Like I said before, there's been absolutely zilch. People are starting to wonder if it'll make launch, and a few are worrying that it'll be as bad as the ROTJ game. They're made by the same company, after all.
Still, that CGI trailer was cool.

Unfortunately, from what I've heard, the trailer was done by a Hollywood production company specifically for E3, and has nothing to do with the game. They just wanted something "cool" to show at E3.

Argh! Don't tell me that yet another TZ reporter is going to start beating me to stories! :)
Yeah, dig those movies. Looks like the game is shaping up quite nicely, and that I had little to worry about. Oh, back to the "is it coming to Gamecube" question, Gamespot is also saying it'll show up by March. So there ya go, for lack of answered e-mails.
But... the CGI sequence for Dark Tomorrow wasn't even done by Kemco? Ack. NOW I'm worried. Even with ROTJ and Superman, as crap as they were, we at least got to see how the games played months before their release.

Nope. This is what I got from my friend: They were contacted back in March/April by Kemco to do the graphics for Dark Tomorrow. The company that Kemco had originally hired had taken two months to create one character. My friend (actually, I think it was his brother) did the Joker in 3 days, and Kemco commented that it was a better job that what the other company took two months doing. (Got to see it. Very cool Very evil looking.)
They still wanted to put the game out by November, so asked him if he could do rush work. He said he could, but of course it would be a higher fee.
And Kemco thought.... and thought.... and flew him out to Japan.... and thought.
And finally approved it. But I guess they knew that there was going to be no way they would have something done for E3, so they had already hired a Hollywood CG studio to create a promo for E3.
I don't think any of the artwork in that promo is what's going to be used in the game. And I know that they didn't do the motion capture for the game until July.
As for the story.... I don't know too much about it. But I've heard things that made me say, "Whaaat?!"
I don't think I can elaborate past that because I don't know how much non-disclosure my friend is under.

The review for Batman Vengeance at IGN was very supportive!!! They complimented it for the animation movement which was very representative of the cartoon. From the movies I saw at IGN I was very impressed with the look and its fluidity. It also seems that there will be a large variety in gameplay making it fun to play as well as to watch. However I have one major gripe that I don't think IGN mentioned. The music. Its neither representative of Danny Elfman or Shirley Walker. I watched three movies and I didn't hear Batman's orchestrated theme once. In fact the music is far too similar to The Batman Overdrive Racing Game for Playstation. It may not be a big deal to some but it bothers me a lot. One thing I loved about Batman the Animated Series Game for SNES is how they had not only the Batman theme but also many of the villain musical themes as well. Ah well.

Well, I don't know about the in-game music but I know it should rock in the cut scenes, since they're going all out with a 5.1 track.
Does anybody know wich villians are in Batman Vengeance, i know that Mr.Freeze,Poison Ivy,Joker, and harley are in it but are there any more main characters?

First off, let me say that I am one of the biggest Batman: TAS fans in the world. It is definitely the best television show ever.
This game is a dream that has come true for me. Not only is Batman: TAS coming to the Playstation 2, but it is coming with more power than any other game to date. 5.1 sound, 60 frames per second, unparalled figure motion, 40 minutes of scenes, original voice cast, soundtrack from the show, apparently a large number of the classic characters from the show, Gotham and the Batcave in 3d, and a story slanted to the adult demographic. This is just too good to be true.
On the Return of the Joker dvd commentary, Timm and Dini said that the flashback scene was one last journey to the Batman: TAS world. This game disproves that and hopefully the upcoming movies will too.
Until now, about the only game that I play on my Playstation 2 is Madden because it is so much better than all the others. However, that's going to change when I get Vengeance. I guess that it will be available in most stores by October 23rd at the latest because EBGames.com is taking preorders for it right now.
I've monitored the following page for the last few months, and they're promising shipping on October 23rd.

There's also a 2-page feature on the game in the Oct issue of WIZARD. (Their reviewer loved the game and gave it high marks as well - it also included some other preview shots of the game - the CGI models are sweeeet.) I didn't pick up a copy of the mag until the day after I posted the article, or I'd have mentioned it.

I just got lucky, actually. It's harder to stay informed of news and get magazines upon release date when you're on the road constantly like I am. I just happened to be at Barnes & Noble on a day off this past week and saw that Nikki Cox was the FHM covergirl this month and natually I had to buy a copy. It had the brief review on the game as well, and I went online to see if IGN had anything on it.
And as for the person who posted asking to know what characters are featured in the game - pick up a copy of the Oct issue of Wizard. It includes CGI headshots of several of the characters featured in the game.

Ubisoft's site rocks! http://www.ubisoft.com/batmanvengeance/
That's one of the most best web site designs I've ever seen. It's almost as good as mine. :)
The music on it is great also. If that's a good indication of what's on the game, they should release a soundtrack cd.
Check out the characters section for info on 6 of the main characters. The Commisioner Gorden design is very cool. They all are.

I'm actually glad Vengeance has been pushed back to later in the month, this means I can buy Okage: Shadow King too...since it was an RPG I was afraid of buying that and moving on in a week to Batman. Still, when I got buy Okage I'll be plunking down the cash for Batman and reserving it.
