View Full Version : The Terrorists have gone TOO FAR!!!

Now, it's getting to the point where you can't enjoy cartoons! Nickelodeon is thinking of cancelling Invader Zim because his personality can be compared of that a terrorist. plus, an episode last night called "FBI Warning" Didn't come on, because bombs and explosives were involved, and Nick felt it was too violent and it might remind people of the World Trade Center.
Look at what those terrorists have done! They've killed a million innocent people now they have taken over our power, our choices and our freedom!
THIS IS DESPICABLE!!!
Perhaps it's just a rumor, cancelling the whole series is going too far, but I could understand them not playing a partucular episode because of a national disaster. The ending to an episode of "The Dick Van Dike Show" was changed after the Kennedy assasination, for example. It will probably be played eventually, in reruns perhaps. I can think of a Looney Tune CN might avoid airing for a while, since it kind of parallels the WTC attack in a few scenes...

Jack, which Looney Tune are you talking about? If you don't want to say it here, just send me a private message. Thanks.
Well, it's really a Merrie Melodie (couldn't remember at first). I was watching it a day or so ago, and that's when the similarities came to me. Other people might not see it, though...

Well, Brandon, Invader Zim has been too succesful to really be cancelled completely. And I'm sure after a while that eppy will air again; but for now people probably don't (probably rightly) need to be reminded of Tuesday's attack. And while it HAS gotten a bit annoying with all these things being pulled off, it's only a bit. I myself don't want to see explosions for a while...
Say, can you PM me as well about the toon?

Last night Fox Family aired "Blazing Saddles" That movie was butchered..... Here are some edits....
1. The new sherif come to town. The mayor says, "I would like to introduce you to our new n*****" Instead we hear "I would like to introduce you to our new........"
2.The Waco Kid is play chess with the new sherif and says "You son of a b****". Instead we hear "You son of a gun"
3. A woman comes to speak in front of the whole town and says "You are the leading a****** in the state." We hear, you are the leading impacel in the state"
4. Funnest scene ruined..... We see all the bad guys at a campground eatting beans and farting.... Instead we hear horses whining......
Great movie......ruined......

Well, this didn't have anything to do with the attacks. That movie has always been severely edited on TV showings...

...very interesting. Anybody know if there's a page on censored movies, like there's one on Censored Cartoons?

I posted it because of Billyjoelfan's post on "What About Bob?" 's edit.

PM me about those cartoons, too.
And about the rash of concellations/delays/etc.: Get used to it. Instead of returning to normal (which, IMO, would've been served by at least *some* football this weekend), we're going to go into a phase where everything "objectionable" is singlehandedly eliminated from public view. If not for the blackface thing, though, we'd likely see "Any Bonds Today?" since the fed is issuing war bonds. :)
Garrett
Wouldn't "Any Bonds Today" make a great "Shorty" or "Groovy?" As a sort of time filler?
