I saw a caption on Fox News earlier today that said that the terrorists declare war on us (something like that). I sure hope we don't have a war.

Wait....are you sure the TERRORISTS declared war on US?! If so, it is a VERY likely possibility then, Cartman, can you tell us if they delclared with certainy?
And I pray if we do have a war, it is short. I still wanted retaliation, though, to get back at the terrorists...heck, I'd have enlisted by now if I wasn't too young. That's how angry I was at these idiots.

The US Government is surely tempted to utter formal declarations of war, not just to send troops to combat, but to stimulate the economy.
Many commentators are saying that a severe recession is likely over the coming months. But recession is not a problem for a war economy. Think of WW2, which blew away the last shackles of the Great Depression.
If the USA declares war on one or more countries, I forsee...
...lengthy periods in which little or no combat occurs. Historical precedents include 'Desert Shield' from August 1990 to January 1991 and the 'phony war' in Europe from 27 September 1939 (surrender of Poland) to 10 May 1940 (blitzkrieg against Allied forces in western Europe).
...full employment among people over 25 as able-bodied 18 to 25-year-olds are inducted into the armed forces. Watch for a military draft which affects both genders.
...rationing of gasoline, car parts, clothing, shoes and food, as happened in WW2. This time the rationing could be extended to include items such as home computers and cell phones.
