Which one is your favorite? Mine is Beavis and Butthead
(Note: I Didn't put Brothers Grunt because it only had 5 episodes.)
geez, no one has voted for Aeon Flux yet? I thought that it'd have a few votes it seems to be a pretty popular cult hit.

Daria for me. Then Aeon Flux.

Please don't make me choose!!!!
For the moment, I'd have to say Daria. More so for the fact that it had the episode span to cement that. Clone High comes close, and if it'll last a few more seasons it may, but at the moment it's not.
Beavis and Butthead was great, but Daria had the realistic and more intelligent humor to back it up.

*raises hand* That would be me. Loved the show and still watch my tapes and read the comics once in awhile.

I'm picking MTV's Downtown. One of the two downtown-oriented shows (the other one was The WB's Downtowners, which is better known as Mission Hill), it was probably one of the most "real" animated series MTV ever made. It wasn't as popular as Daria, but it was still one of the best animated series the network ever showed. And yes, I can't wait for George and Jody's next big thing . . . Low Brow!

Daria for me. Beavis and Butthead was funnier, but Daria was just a much better all around show.

I think Downtown would have been the best if MTV gave it more of a chance.
I'll have to vote for Daria, though.

I voted for Clone High, but I enjoy Beavis and Butt-head, The Maxx, Daria, Undergrads, and 3-South as well.

I voted for Daria. It was an intelligent and witty show until Daria got a boyfriend (Tom) and it all went downhill.
But, second would be the Maxx. I would like to see that show again.
Third Aeon Flux. It was a good show but bizarre.

Beavis and Butthead and Aeon Flux definitely. B N B was brilliant satire. Daria dealing with funny teen issues and her attitude wasnt all that funny. I didnt get it. Not all that great.

I loved Daria, it was a smart witty show from a female's pov. In the early seasons we had a girl who didn't feel the need to go with the flow. We didn't see her buying fancy clothes, getting into the latest fashions, and have her life revolve around a man. (Like a lot of girls show's today..ohhh that guy is so hot, what can I do to make him like me?) Course I didn't see much of her final season so I can't make comments about it.
That's why it got my vote.

LA-LA-LA-LA-LAAAAAAAA

Daria rocked!!! Loved the first few seasons. Unfortunately MTV started jerking w/ the schedule so I never knew what time Daria was on, therefore I missed the last season or two. Bastitches!!!
It had stiff animation but the show was all about story and dialogue. I loved the character designs as well as the backgrounds. And the supporting cast was hilarious: Ms. Birch, Principal Li, Mr. DiMartino, that flaky teacher, The Fashion Club (Stacey, Sandi, and the Japanese girl).
Two things would make me happy:
1. Daria on Adult Swim, unedited.
2. Daria: Boxed Sets. Seasons One thru-???
make it happen MTV Video. Real World and Osbournes SUCK!!!
my second choice would be The Maxx. A very interesting series w/ some neat effects. A different kind of superhero story.
third: Beavis n Butt-Head. Hilarious misadventures...and ya gotta love the MST3K-esque commentaries.
Aeon Flux rounds out my faves. Aeon had the better animation of the lot, but when spaced apart as it was, it was sometimes hard to follow. Luckily I recorded a 5hr marathon on MTV a few yrs back.
oh, the Head was funny too.
also, gotta show love for Liquid Television (the Specialists, Stick Figure Theater, I AM NORMAL, Dog Boy, White Steel...)

I know I'm going to be down right odd, but I chose Beavis and Butthead over all in the best of MTV animation.

actually, when I was searching for information on all MTV Animation shows, i found more information on Beavis and Butthead then I did with Daria. Last season of B&B except woodshop, a great day, and B&B are dead sucked. Woodshop ruled
"Hey Beavis, pull my finger, uh, I mean your finger."

Yup, that's one anthology show that I really miss... :(
Good Ol' Batmanuel!

Though I haven't actually seen it, I am a fan of some of Bill Plympton's stuff, so I'll go with Liquid Television by default. :) If not that, then Beavis and Butthead, I guess. Wasn't Ren and Stimpy on MTV at some point, too?
Anarky
02-23-2003, 02:33 PM
ren and stimpy were on MTV but it was originally a Nickelodeon program...that was too much for Soccer Mom so Viacom did a network switch. If only ZIM got the same treatment.
a little help on this one: I remember MTV had a marrionette (puppet) show...similar to the old Thunderbirds. Can anyone remember the name of that program. It was funny. I think they whacked that one after 3 or 5 eps. Puppets get no love in this nation...excluding the Muppets.....anbd that new Pooh puppet show.

If you don't know who I chose, then you never seen me before. :D
Clone High is the funniest show I have ever seen and it keeps on getting better. It has great cameos, quotes, and plots. As Gir would say "I love this show"

I voted for The Maxx also. I saw the Maxx cartoon before I ever knew there was a comic book.... then I started reading the comic and I was blown away by it. The cartoon was amazingly faithful to the comic book series, it was probably the most impressive comic to screen adaptation I have ever seen, bar none.
The comic series continues past what is adapted onto the screen, and anyone who loved the show but has not read the comic series... I definitely reccomend picking up some back issues, they are usually relatively inexpensive!

I voted for Downtown not necessarily because it's my favorite show, but because it deserves more attention.
