I honestly can't remember what this episode was about! I know I've seen it like a zillion times as with all BB eps but still...bizarro hehe. The lil ep description isn't helping much either.

Someone fill me in! http://members.aol.com/kimminakochan/chicken.gif

My favorite Batman Beyond ever, ROtJ excepted. The Royal Flush Gang falling apart, one by one, Paxton Powers and Terry in the middle, and a plot that inspires little kids to ask their parents "what's a philanderer?"

Well maybe the last part's not a good thing. :-) But it was a mature episode and as a season opener, a great way to show us that the lame high school plots of Season 2 BB were a thing of the past.

This episode is very good. I like how Bruce said that he had an ace in the hold.

Out of all of the episodes concerning the Royal Flush Gang I thought this one was the weakest. I just didn't like it as much as the other ones. I would have liked to have seen some more interaction with Terry and Melanie. But still this episode got Bruce out of the cave and that gives it a plus right there :) . It wasn't a bad episode by any means but RF gang raised the bar so high with Dead Man's Hand.

A great episode, just great! This was the first RFG episode I saw and it really got me interesten in them. I was thinking, since the RFG is making an appearance in JL S2 it means we'll get to see that Fing that Queen thought si highly of.

I like this episode. The tiff between Queen and King at the end is great, I like the twist and the additional fighting/cool dialogue for Bruce makes this an above average episode.

I too would have liked to have seen more interaction between Mel/Terry but I think that was to highlight the fact that Terry was over all that.

Nice ending too. Nice to see some criminals in Gotham can reform... :)

I'd seen this episode years back, but only had a foggy memory of it when I sat down with the DVD this past week. Very surprising episode!

When you think Royal Flush Gang (or at least, when I do), you immediately think of Ten and the Melanie/Terry love story. Just as I was expecting the writers to find some contrived means of getting Mel back into trouble, instead they turn around and keep her on the outskirts of the plot and living her life right. All we get as far as romance is concerned is a mention of her note to Terry. Even in the end, when it seemed she might free her brother and end up to be a criminal again after all, it turns out she only wants to help him get his life back on track. Great to see a character maturing over the course of the series. It's a shame Melanie didn't get one more episode in which to appear. I wonder how Terry and Dana's relationship would have survived the test of a fully reformed Melanie re-entering Terry's life.

While I did miss the original voice actor for Paxton (who sounded exactly like his father), at least the character returned here, and was permanently dethroned. It's fascinating to watch him manipulate his way out of every situation. He's clearly a foe with staying power.

Unlike the Flush Gang. While I wasn't familiar with the family history, having not yet seen their earlier episodes, it was fun watching the family grow bitter and desperate in their quest for money and unity. Good thing Ten got out when she did.

Plus, as was mentionned, Bruce Wayne is brought into the middle of the drama and forced to fight for his life. A great twist in a plot that could have been lazy and left Brucie in the Batcave.

Twists, turns, and character growth. Loved it!
