Hello folks! It's new FQ time, so put on your thinking caps.

If there's anything I love, it's good drama. If there's anything I love, it's good comedy. But if there's anything I obsess over, it's whatever can pull off both of these direct opposites with gorgeous accuracy. So with that in mind:

What is the one movie you think had the most successfull combination of drama and comedy??

Well I don't think this is the most successful combination of comedy and drama. But I saw "About Schmidt" recently and I think it did a good job, it was depressing and hilarious.

Possibly the best of the well-known movies I can think of right away would be Pulp Fiction. Mixing very good black comedy with a plot that makes you think and a non-standard narrative.

Totally mate. That's the one which springs to my mind as well. I thought Dusk till Dawn was an interesting mix, or perhaps non-mix. It put together a film which was one part Drama, one part horror comedy spoof. It didn't mix the two at all. I thought that was a bold step.

This is a great question, I'm surprised more people aren't more people answering.

Dark comedies always seem to do the job well.

How bout Harold & Maude?

hilarious movie with good drama.

or two of Robin William's great accomplishments
Good Morning Vietnam & Dead Poets Society

both obvious Dramas, made fantastic by a comic genious.

In (sort of) the same vein, how about Fight Club? Lots of excellent dark comedy coupled with a pretty good character-driven plot and EXCELLENT social commentary.

Boogie Nights was a great drama with a lot of humorous characters and situations. P. T. Anderson is my favorite writer/director because his stories are so great.

Since a drama is supposed to be a representationof real life, it has to include some comedy. Real life has a lot funny parts. Drama couldn't exist without a comedic element.

Die another day. It is so fun to see all the hilariously stupid puns they make!
