Comic Books have begun arriving in comic shops nation wide, throughout America and the US. Hope for some escape from the recent tramautic events, Superman comic fans reached for the newest issue and opened, and what they say made them realize that escaping the events of Tuesday may never be possible. Comic Newsarama reports that the lates issue of Adventures of Superman may leave a mark. In issue #596, when readers turned to page two, they saw something they hoped to avoid.
As a fallout of the recent Our Worlds At War saga, the twin towers of Lexcorp were harshly damaged, leaving rubble, shattered class, debris, and lost of life. Comic Newsarama was able to talk to Mike Wieringo about this:
“People should keep in mind that this book was completed months ago-- and for me personally, though I could imagine the day when a tragedy like the one that happened on the 11th could happen... I never thought it would happen. The issue was an ‘aftermath of War’ piece-- but the ironic thing is that the damage done by the terrorists was far greater than I could ever portray visually. In this case, the toll in human lives and damage to the physical and psychological heart of this nation far outstrips anything that could be created in a comic book or movie or television show. Reality has eclipsed fantasy. It's a very unfortunate coincidence.”
Comic Newsarama has also reported that copie sof this issue have hit eBay, with the main selling point being the panel on page 2. Below is the panel, courtesy of Comic Newsarama.
