Unknown at this point, considering that the Simpsons will still be on for a long time if Fox has anything to say about it. (note to everyone: everything has to end sometimes....) Considering the Futurama deal with CN, it would be feasable to have the "classic" Simpsons there. (but that doesn't mean it will happen)

I think you should have been watching two weeks ago if you wanted to see the show's 300th episode. Despite what Fox is saying in its ad campaign, "Barting over" is the 302nd episode.
I would suggest continuing to watch Fox since two new episodes will premier on the same night for the second time in the show's history.

i stopped watching the simpsons when they became crappy a few seasons ago, but this "300th Episode" is actually...not, as Exatron said. according to snpp.com:
It should be noted that while Fox is promoting “Barting Over” as the official 300th episode, this is not exactly correct. In fact, the 300th episode to be aired will be “Strong Arms of the Ma,” on February 2nd. “Barting Over” isn't the 300th produced episode either, as that title goes to “Strong Arms of the Ma” as well.
i heard the episode featurs blink 182...(sigh) i long for the days when celebrity voices played characters instead of themselves and homer was just an ignorant misunderstanding man instead of the stupid jerkass he is today.

:yakko: Aaaaaahhhh.... yyyyeah.
:wakko: who's Tony Hawk? Some sort of infomercial guy?
:dot: he's a skateboarder. (Flatly) "Kewl."
:yakko: Oh. *There's* a celebrity cameo worth celebrating. And what do *we* get?
:dot: Our show perverted to promote "Slime Time", recycled stock footage promos made from ourselves in the late 90's, forgotten by our network in favor of "Yu-Gi-Oh", a Slim-Fast-drinking Juggernaut, and animated bodily fluids,...
:yakko: I think we get the idea.

Doesn't Fox know we watch the Simpsons for the characters themselves, not some flavor of the week celebrities they trot out?
I sure hope this 300th episode is funnier than the previews they have been running. The previews make this show look butt-awful.

I don't think they care why people watch, just as long as they do.

The 300th episode was decent for an act or two, but the third fell apart thanks to the poor pacing that has plagued the show for several seasons now. The Tetris sequence came quite close to the show's classic brand of humor when Marge pointed out that Homer hadn't made any room for himself.

While this is true, it is the 300th written, and therefor, is the three hundredth

Wow, are you serious about this not being #300? That's kind of a rip-off. It doesn't really matter, I suppose, but why would they promote it as something it's not? I remember a few years ago when Episode #200 came out (TRASH OF THE TITANS), the schedule was shifted about in order to accomodate an episode with a grander scale for the monumental spot of #200. Oh well. I just hope it's good.

I'm not a fan of theirs BUT...Blink 182 has been around a few years now: since '98 or so.
And T. Hawk is a skateboarder
i only like one of Blink's songs: "What's My Age?"
only because of this one line: "Nobody likes you when you're 23."
so true. You're too old for 18-19 yr old girls...and too young for girls 25+. And girls your own age are hot for men in their 30s. It's a lonely age.

i watched it in hopes of it being good...
no such luck.
i only laughed at one joke, and it was a self-referential joke: when bart says, "ive never been in a commercial", and then takes a bite out of a butterfinger.

Didn't watch #300, but I did watch the one before it with the Guitar camp. Several reasons why I don't watch the show anymore put together. Such as: how could they just spring up some rock camp out of nowhere? And why would all these characters we know be there? And why would all these characters we know go to....nah, I think I gave too much thought to that episode. Besides, anyone who messes with Elvis Costello messes with me! (well, at least Keith Richards was funny, but then he doesn't have to do much to be funny.) Can't believe that EW had to put this on that list of the 25 best, cause I didn't think so.

Good as usual. Mr. Stinky Breath was an unexpected surprise. And I liked that "Oh no, not my scalp" joke.
If you want even more Simpsons (and see why it's still a good show), watch Bravo at 11:00 EST.

That was a pretty recent event. I'm amazed, if it was really an MJ joke, that they managed to cobble this together so fast.

Actually, no. It's the 301st episode produced and and the 302nd aired.
Either way, it was random and pointless.

Did anyone catch these? I sure hope so. Though not as funny as alot of episodes, it's still nice to see that The Simpsons is still running after so long.
Also, what are some of your favorite episodes? Personally:
-The 200th episode (Homer runs for sanitation commisioner)
-The Simpsons go to NYC
-Homer stays home from church one winter day

I found quite an interesting about why the simpsons has "lost it." I think it's pretty accurate Read the article here (http://slate.msn.com/id/2078501/)
EDIT: I realized on another thread somone already posted this article...oh well if you haven't seen it yet, read it.

All animation (without a specific home) belong here on the WBC so consider it moved. ;)
I think we can leave this one open because here we seem to be looking for reflection on the previous 299 episodes, but that's for the WBC mods to decide.

What if the Micheal Jackson joke was unintentional? Could they have really rearranged the episode and get the animation done that quickly?

I liked this episode. I felt it was one of the better episodes this seasons.
The Micheal Jackson gag and Butterfinger gag were hi-larious.
I liked the scenes were Bart was choking Homer, and were Homer told Bart he owned him until he was 18, and the court scene.

Yes, they could have.
It was only a breif segment and would have been very quick to get done...
South Park has done it before..

I was surprised at the episode #302 reference, since it was the 302nd one aired. So really, they didn't make such a huge deal about the 300th episode because it was really episode #302.

This was a very good ep. The guest stars were either unobtrusive or well-used, there was an actual plot, and it was FUNNY (but what Simpsons isn't?).
Good jokes:
-Butterfinger
-Homer as Michael Jackson
-"I could have sworn it was 302" (I wouldn't have gotten it if it weren't for this board. Thank you!)

The Worst lack of continuity I have ever seen. Get over it. He was asking Lisa to spell RELAPSE. As in, what happens when a reformed alcoholic drinks a beer again.
