This is what the ever-reliable www.superherhype.com put up:

"Sony Pictures has posted a teaser page for next year's The Amazing Spider-Man on the studio's official movie website. It confirms the title will be just that and hit the link above for the added '2004' year graphic."

Website and familair teaser image is here:

Alright. :) It was pretty much all but confirmed anyway, but I'm glad to have 100% confirmation. Hopefully the third film will be "Peter Parker: Spider-Man" or "Web of Spider-Man".

Web Of The Spider-Man sounds like a 50's horror flick. I think "Spectacular" has a better ring...

The Amazing Spider-Man is not that great a title for a sequel, IMHO. I know sequel titles are never great (2 Fast 2 Furious... I gawk in astonished gawkdom at how clever and thought-provoking that is), but they should at least convey that it IS a sequel. And none of the titles I've heard for Spidey-3 have been any good.

I agree. IT doesn't sound like a sequel. It sounds like the first one. Of course it isn' bad just as far as titles go.

rather lame teaser for the sequel... it's the DVD box art for the 1st movie!

LOL - and that's the wrong way to get us hyped for the movie :)

I doubt we'll see any real images for quite sometime.

Well.. Amazing Spiderman SOUNDS better than X2, and it's evil offspring X1.5. Maybe one day they will release the intended X-men movie and call is X=3.14159/-2ab

But don't you hate films which soulnd like sequels? Surely making them sound like films in their own right is better? It means they are judged less as sequels. Spider Man 2 sounds tacky. I like this approach. Books don't just lump a 'two' after the title, so why should films?

Amazing Spider-Man sounds fine as a sequel title. The two titles are from the comic book so it makes perfect sense. After all,it's better than "Spider-Man 2".

We know "Analyze That" and "American Wedding" are movie sequels so I have no problem with "Amazing Spider-Man".
