As you all know by now former WWE Intercontinental Champion "Mr. Perfect" Curt Hennig died Monday at the age of 44. You can remember him here (http://forums.toonzone.net/showthread.php?s=&threadid=66722) We are under the two hour mark until this week's SmackDown! and I think it would be nice if we all observed a moment of silence before we comment on tonight.

http://raw.wwe.com/results/021003/images/Stl0001.jpg

Is John Cena crazy? Last week on SmackDown!, WWE's version of Marky Mark called out Brock Lesnar, challenging the former WWE Champion to a match this week. Lesnar has accepted, and the two will lock up tonight on SmackDown! (8/7 CT on UPN).

Last week, Matt Hardy pledged to shed some pounds to enter the cruiserweight division in hopes of defeating Billy Kidman for the title. See what progress Version 1 has made tonight!

Also last week, Nunzio took issue with Rikishi's disrespect. Nunzio warned Rikishi that his family would not allow themselves to be insulted. Who exactly is Nunzio's family? Will they make their presence felt at SmackDown!?

With Valentine's Day just about here, love will be in the air on SmackDown!, but not when Torrie Wilson and Dawn Marie get into the ring! Torrie and Dawn will do anything to get the other undressed during their Bra and Panties Match tonight!

We'll be less than two weeks away from No Way Out when SmackDown! kicks off this Thursday night. Will there be any new challenges made or any new matches announced for the pay-per-view?

Don't miss SmackDown! when it kicks off tonight at 8 p.m./7 CT on UPN!

NOTE: In Evansville, Ind., SmackDown! will not be seen at its normal time this week on WAZE-19. Instead, catch it Sunday beginning at 1 p.m.

I liked tonight's show. This pay-per-view doesn't look all that hot, but I guess that's a good thing. I would rather have a crappy No Way Out and a great Wrestlemania than the other way around. I have four comments:

1) Kanyon's back! I just wish they would have brought him back a bit better.

2) First The Team Angle, then The Evolution, and now The Family. I don't know why, but I have a feeling that this stable will not only work, but make people forget that one of it's members is "the wrestler formally known as 'Chuck' from 'Billy and Chuck'".

3) I like Sean O'Haire's new gimmick, but it isn't dark enough for my tastes. Tormenting Brian Kendricks is great, but it gets boring after five minutes. Personally, I would turn him into a manager and have him bring some of the big deal faces (Edge, Rey Mysterio, Billy Kidman) to the darkside.

4) Cena looked good tonight. He'd really be going places if he had a better gimmick.

Overall tonight's episode of Smackdown! was pretty decent, I found most of the episode to be entertaining.

Edge vs. Charlie Haas was an excellent match to open the show with. I especially enjoyed watching Heyman getting speared off of the apron.

Nathan Jones is exclusive property of Smackdown! It will be interesting to hear what he has to say during his interview next week.

The Angle/Stephanie bit was great... atleast until Brock Lesnar came into the room and tried to speak. I feel like banging my head against a wall every time Lesnar tries to act like he has mic skills.

Apparently Johnny the Bull and Chuck Palumbo are Nunzio's "People". Nice to see that they finally found something to do with Stamboli.

Rey Mysterio vs. Matt Hardy was a decent match. It was kind of funny watching Matt wrestle in his rubber suit. Matt Hardy vs. Billy Kidman should be quite the match.

I wasn't impressed by this week's Sean O'Haire bit. He still looks cool though.

I couldn't possibly have cared less about the Benoit vs. A-Train
match. Any match involving A-Train seems to just make want to change the channel.

Torrie a special guest at the Girls Gone Wild spring break party, that promises to be interesting.

This week's victim for the Undertaker... Kanyon! Kanyon's back! Quite the return, getting the crap kicked out of him and all.

I enjoyed Funaki's interview of Cena. Especially when Funaki tried to talk like Cena.

Eddie Guerrero vs. Shelton Benjamin was a decent match, although I was only half paying attention so I don't remember too much about it.

a WWE diva will make her way to the cover of Playboy. Gee... I wonder who that could be.

Valentines Day Bra and Panties Match Dawn Marie Wilson vs. Torrie. What else can I say other than it was a BRA AND PANTIES MATCH.

The highlight of the main event had to be Cena's rap mocking Lesnar's intelligence. Cena never spoke so truthful about his opponent. Lesnar is all muscle and no brains.

Question, is Steph pregnet or has she really let herself go?

"I don't have a chance is what they keep tellin' me. Me beating you is like you winning a spelling bee." :D

I liked Cena ripping Lesnar tonight. That was funny. (Dissing Brock's mama, though, with the tattoo was asking for a whooping).

The matches were good for the most part. Team Angle is getting pushed just like Angle was, which I guess is okay.

Yeah i guess its cool to see Team Angle getting pushed like Angle
but i hope not too much of a push because its clear that they cant be the next Kurt Angle...thats just what i think

I agree. While their matches are okay, they lack something Kurt Angle's had since day one: charisma. These guys have zero personality, and that makes them a bore to watch. Does anyone else remember the great promos Kurt Angle was cutting in his first week?

why is the smackdown! talkback on page two when the show just aired last night??? more people should reply to this thing.

anyway...here are my thoughts...
-the openning match didn't really fit the whole "openning match" theme. it was a really good match! perhaps the WWE wanted to start strong for once?

-the spear on heyman delivered by edge should've been faster, stronger, and all around...more brutal!

-STOP PUSHING A-TRAIN!!! i'm begging you, mr. mcmahon! please...stop-p-p [starts sobbing]

-thanks go out to dawn marie and torie wilson for showing me just how gimmicky valentine's day can really be. sure, i'm a guy and i really liked the match ;) but still,...you know...

-i would really like to see some sort of good direction with the new stephanie/kurt angle "feelings". "well, we're a perfect match, stephanie" [leans in for kiss and gets dissed by stephanie, not to mention mr. pain himself breaks it up]

-kurt vs. brock next week? cool. one comment on this, well...rather a request. can we see a real wrestling match out of this? i mean, NCAA rules and what not, instead of "me stonger than you and me throw you far" match?

-john cena+vanilla ice gimmick=big laughs for my friend, the penguin. for me? yep. i enjoy the raps too. keep 'em coming, cena.

RIP mr. perfect. God bless

KoD

I'd love to see that as well, but it isn't going to happen on broadcast TV three days before a pay-per-view. I see it happening at Wrestlemania as a part of a "best out of three" match.

Is that the writers stipulation they made up a "me stonger than you and me throw you far" match. Now i cant wait for it hehe

The NCAA rules match has no chance of happening for two reasons. One, WWE would have to get permission from the NCAA (who would say 'absolutely not,' maybe WWE wil make some modified rules), and second, it way too difficult for the writers to "script" an actual wrestling match. They can't even write a single RAW match well, how are they supposed to intertwine reverse leg sweeps, underarm headlocks, etc. within a thirty second span per fall. Sounds cool, but probably won't happen.

1) Okay, maybe not NCAA rules, but they could at least do traditional amateur wrestling.

2) You're right. They can't write a good Raw match. Keep in mind that this would be a Smackdown match. If there's one thing they can do, it's write matches.

It was Valentine’s Day on Friday so that means Penguin watched his tape of SmackDown! :( Overall I was pretty happy with this week’s show even though I didn’t watch it with a lovely lady. Sorry KoD, but you’re not a hot chick. :p

Looking at Michael Cole’s mustache again I can only think of one thing… *pulls out a megaphone* “Now ya got ’em baby! Now ya got ’em.”

 That was about the strongest Edge entrance I have had to endure so far. Flashing lights… eyes burn.

Edge’s match with Charlie Haas was a solid contest and the interference by Heyman was a nice cap on the match. It wasn’t the greatest spear ever, but this again it was Paul Heyman the manager on the apron, not Charlie Haas the wrestler in the ring.

I liked how Kurt and Stephanie seemed to revisit their “are they or aren’t they” relationship from a couple years ago, then it got trashed, but perhaps they’ll return to it in the future.

“Am I interrupting something here?” No Brock, just two people who actually know how to cut a promo. Lesnar talked way too much there and it was simply a bad, bad promo.

I was hoping Nunzio would get some cool accomplices and I wasn’t disappointed with Johnny “The Bull’ Stamboli (moving from RAW & Heat) and Chuck Palumbo. I’m glad to see Palumbo doing something again. Billy Gunn might never come back :( and it would be a shame to see someone with so much potential fall by the wayside. I’m not too sure about that hat though, there was a second I thought it might be Big Vito. Now if WWE would dust off the WCW Mamalukes theme I will be very happy. That was one of the better themes from WCW. of course so was Kidman’s and we all know what happened there.

One thing I’m not overly keen on it seems like Nunzio might be the unofficial leader of the two. Johnny and Chuck shouldn’t be taking direction from someone half their size.

In the “That’s just wrong” category this week we have Tazz doing the Hulk Hogan poses at the broadcast table. http://www.stopstart.freeserve.co.uk/smilie/sick.gif

With what sometimes happens to high school and college wrestlers at first I wasn’t sure if WWE should really show Matt losing weight like that even though I rarely complain about that sort of thing. By the time he was on the bike sweating up a storm I saw completely saw it for what it was—entertainment.

I don’t know quite what Sean O’Haire sees in young Brian Kendrick. Unfortunately it’s not something I already know.

First the T-shirt (http://shopzone.wwe.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?catalogId=10001&storeId=10001&productId=17651&langId=-1), now the tights. Honestly does anyone think “Toothless Aggression” sounds cool?

I wouldn’t look for Torrie to get too ‘wild’ in the Girls Gone Wild pay-per-view. I also wouldn’t look for a bunch of people to order an entire PPV of topless drunk chicks, but America can be a very interesting place. ;)

Who’s betta than Kanyon? Well Brother Love is, but I am super-excited to see the Innovator of Offense back in WWE. Chris Kanyon can be very entertaining (“Positively Kanyon” anyone? ) and I hope he is given the chance. If he is going to be part of Heyman’s stable that could really help him out short term.

I just have to comment how I enjoyed watching John Cena knock Funaki’s hat off. :D

Team Angle does it again with Shelton Benjamin’s match against Eddie Guerrero. These two put on a great match I look forward to getting a bit more out of the Angles-Guerreros feud.

Even though it was obviously paid for by the folks at Dreamworks I still enjoyed Gene arguing with Nowinski about the merits of “Old School.” :)

Hugh Heffner on SmackDown! Now I can believe!! :D:D

Despite what it may seem like sometimes I don’t have a real problem with Michael Cole. When he is with Tazz (and not hyping SD! on Velocity  ) he does a commendable job, but talking about how he owned several of the Girls Gone Wild tapes and had been reading Playboy since he was 13 just made him seem like a sad and pathetic single guy. It’s one thing to have the tapes and been reading the magazine, it is another to have “admitted” to doing it on national television.

Speaking of that kind of thing I was entertained by the Torrie Wilson-Dawn Marie “match” but it just seemed to drag after awhile. I don’t think I’ve ever seen so man “near falls” in a bra and panties match. The addition of Nidia at the end was nice even if it didn’t make complete sense (unless I’m forgetting something).

JOHN CENA SPEAKS THE TRUTH!! I wasn’t aware of it before, but apparently one of my favorite SmackDown! Superstars is a modern day profit of sorts. How else could he have known all that stuff about Minnesota native Brock Lesnar. “God build me strong, forget to give me brain.” It is available as a video on the SmackDown! site (http://smackdown.wwe.com) and I made a sound wave of it so I can listen to it as often as I want

The match itself was pretty good followed by another lame attempt by the man who couldn’t win a spelling bee to match word for word with Kurt Angle. “You ain’t comin’?” No Brock I guess not, what are you gonna do about it?

After everything got going though it did add a nice amount of fuel to fire as we head to No Way Out and WrestleMania XIX.

Regardless of how I feel about Lesnar, I bet Curt Hennig is proud of how far Brock has come since he met him all those years ago. :) :(
