Woody Woodpecker makes a "guest appearance" in the movie Destination Moon on Turner Classic Movies this evening. The movie is on at 11 pm EST, 10 pm Central.

Woody appears in an animated clip shown to explain rocket science. The movie was produced by George Pal, who also made Puppetoons. Pal thought Walter Lantz's characters were good luck charms and put subtle references to them n the rest of his movies.

The only other reference I know of is in Pal's last movie, Doc Savage, Man Of Bronze. In that, Lantz's wife (and voice of Woody from 1950 on), Grace Stafford, is seen carrying an Andy Panda doll.

The movie should be on the list of films Woody appeared in. Who voiced him in this?

I belive that Walter Lantz' wife, Grace Stafford did Woody's voice in the movie.

That's what it says in Joe Adamson's "The Walter Lantz Story", though they obviously reused the Mel Blanc laugh.
