After spending a year and one day on these boards, it's become quite obvious that, while everyone here seems to be a fan of anything superhero-related, Batman is undeniably the overwhelming favourite. That group includes me, too. I'm a fan of Superman and various other heroes/shows, but Batman's always gonna be my #1.
Who out here DOESN'T like Batman the most out of all of the WB/DC superheroes? I'm just curious to see if there is anyone on the boards that feels this way. That's all. Feel free to respond to my poll, too. :D
Note: When I say "Batman", I don't mean the specific Batman character, necessarily - just all of his supporting cast and "related indica".

Nope. Batman: The Animated Series was the best, no question. But I will say that Superman was better than TNBA.

No way, Batman is still the best!
I liked the other shows, but I've been a Batman fan long before there was an animated series with reruns of the 60s TV show in the late 80s.
My name isn't "Lex Luthor" it's "The Penguin." :p

I'll go out on a limb here. I really enjoyed the Superman animated series.
Why? Well I have a few reason. There were more guest stars from the DC universe as a whole. Batman had a great core of Batman family characters, but not as many other characters from the other parts of the DC universe. On Superman AS you got to see Flash, Dr. Fate, Green Lantern, Aquaman, Supergirl (duh, that's a no-brainer :D), the New Gods and numerous baddies from Apokolips, and more. (I am having a brain cramp and I can't recall any more off the top of my head....) Also, Batman did show up, and one of the funniest episodes of any series was the one where Superman had to take Batman's place for a while. Him teaming up with Robin was very cool. Anyway, Superman had a more diverse showing from the DCU, which I enjoyed a lot.
I also liked seeing something other than Batman. I mean, Batman had been on for 5 years, and seeing a new show was a breath of fresh air, at least for me. The stories, the villains and heroes, everything was different. So it was new and interesting, at least to me.
Don't get me wrong, I love Batman and I think it's probably the better show, but I have a very deep affection for the Superman Animated Series as well. It was different and a nice interpretation of the Superman character for a new audience. I think they did a great job.
Anyway, I just have to show support. Plus, Batman never had a Green Lantern on his show, and that's just not cool for a GL fan like me. :p

I think BTAS is the best series so far, minus TNBA, but Batman isn't my favorite character or any of the related characters. Martian Manhunter from Justice League is, and that's who I voted for. :)

Batman rules, 'nuff said.
...but I do enjoy the other shows quite a bit. I just have always been a huge Bats fan and I can't say that the show is less in my opinion...'cos it's not!
Off topic, but Twlight, I love that avvie! :D

Batman Beyond brought me into the Bat universe, but it was really because of Bruce anyway, so Batman will always rule :D
PS: happy anniversary Timmy :)

Batman Beyond brought something very new to the series which really pulled me in. The dynamic between Terry and Bruce in the first and third season really caught me.
Saying that, Max's 'intrusion' into the chemistry made a quarter of the episodes lack lustre. I find with the original Bat series and New Adventures on the whole, you know what you get is quality.
But for the sheer originality of BB, and the dark nature of Bruce (not to mention the theme tune) I see BB as my favourite in essence, although the originals are far more consistent to watch.

Batman rules them all, but JL and Superman tie for second place. :)

Batman was the first, and the best of the DCAU shows. He and his show will always be my favorite, no matter what else comes along. I liked STAS and I enjoy JL..but neither compare BTAS, and they never will IMO.

Tricky poll question.
B:TAS was EASILY the greatest of the several shows so far, however Superman is my favorite character on the shows. It's just that his episodes were very weak after the first stellar season, and really made him out to be a giant loser.
B:TNA and JL make Batman way too powerful... his power levels are laughable, ridiculous, and insulting to every other member of the League. I loved the B:TAS Batman so don't think that I'm not a Bat-fan, but in the context of the Justice League, I hate him. You heard me: I hate him. And I wish they'd write him out of the series completely if they're going to treat him as so superior to the other members.
Anyway, my favorite series is B:TAS (not B:TNA,) but my favorite character up there in the poll is Superman

I couldn't agree more... I loved, and practically grew up with BTAS, but I was just okay with TNBA and his presence on JL sucks the intelligence and competence out of the other members... he would do better as a recurring guest star that showed up infrequently during stories that would utilize him well in a way that was true to the nature of his character.

Batman all the way! BTAS/TNBA overall will always be the best. But when you get down to details, BTAS rocked, TNBA could have been better, STAS was better then TNBA. As for JL and BB, I think they both, especially JL, rank up with STAS. So something like BTAS, JL, STAS, BB/TNBA - in how I liked everything, but Batman always comes out of top for me at the end of it all.

I've always liked how Superman and all respective characters have been established in the beginning of STAS. For some reason Lois has always been a well-rounded character in my eyes, standing out whenever she's on scene. Can't wait for her appearance in Justice League (hoping to hear what she has to say about Wonder Woman).

Batman! As far as shows go JL is a very close second. But hero wise Batman will always be the best in my book.

I'm with the general consensus on this one. Batman: TAS is KING. However, personally I didn't enjoy TNBA nearly so much. I thought B:TAS took a slight downward turn when Batgirl was introduced, and pair that up with a kiddie Robin in TNBA and it starts becoming less "Batman" and more "Batman and Friends." That's not what I want to see. That and the new art style always bugged me, I thought the character designs were 100% perfect the way they were.
In sharp contrast (or hypocrisy, if you want to be mean about it, heh heh) to the above, I really enjoy Batman Beyond. I do feel that Max's character held the show back a little bit, but overall I really like it. Something about Bruce as a bitter old man just appeals to me I guess. (-: And Terry makes for a good Batman-in-training, the friction between him and Bruce creates some good plot.
Justice League... meh, it's okay. It's not something I go out of my way to watch, but I generally enjoy it when I do catch it. I've never enjoyed seeing Batman paired up with other superheroes, it never seems to work. His function always gets pared down to buying expensive stuff (like that silly space station) and doing detective work, meaning they have to dumb down all the other characters so that he has something to do, and he doesn't tend to get any good action/fight scenes. Personally, I tend to like the Flash more than Batman in JL. What can I say, I'm a sucker for the smarmy comic relief characters. (My favorite Ninja Turtle as a kid was Raphael.)
As far as Superman: TAS goes, I put that about on par with Justice League. Pretty good, but not something I go out of my way to see. What can I say, I've just never been a Superman fan. First, his character has always been too goody-goody for me, and second, he's too powerful; eventually, no matter how good the writers are, they always wind up falling back to the Kryptonite. And Superman: TAS made it even worse with that radiation suit which took away his one (physical) weakness, forcing the writers to invent new ways to tear it or otherwise neutralize it. Still, it had its strong points: good voice work, good animation, etc. etc. etc. Don't think I'm knocking it, 'cause I'm not: just not my thing is all.

Superman is my choice. No question for me about that. Batman is second, but I will always have Supes first.

Martian Manhunter all the way.

Well, if you're going by the various Animated series, B:TAS was probably better done than the others, but still liked S:TAS heavily. Plus, favorite animated hero would be Supes. Probably from a personal preference for heroes with actual super-powers/more optimistic or lighter-hearted heroes, I suppose...
If you're referring to their original comics, then Superman's my "fav'rit" (to quote Bibbo). Batman (in the current "actual" comics), to paraphrase the previous comments, "I hate him." A *lot*. ;-)

I'll go with other if that's okay.
And that other would be Zeta! (Is that okay??)
This poor show never really got a chance. I found it to be refreshingly original and fun to watch. To bad it's dead in the water unless it will get a third season this summer much like Static did? http://members.aol.com/kimminakochan/chicken.gif

Superman is my choice. He was the embodiment of what you wanted your hero to be. Plus, Tim Daly's voice acting brought a depth to the character. I think Daly is very underrated as Kevin Conroy and Mark Hamill usually get the lion's share of the praise.
I always liked the Batman character as well. But, as the seasons have gone on, he's become so omnipotent. In the JL, he's the super-hero version of "Ferris Bueller". He can practically predict the future.
"This looks like a job for Superman!"

A good point, Tim Daly does some great work on that show, he personifies Superman as far as I'm concerned. Even though I rarely catch S:TAS, it still felt out-of-place when the Justice League got an episode of Batman: Beyond and they didn't get Tim Daly to do Superman's voice.

I disagree. Supes was 60+ in BB. He shouldn't sound the same.

Oh really! Then how does the elderly Bruce Wayne sound the same in 'Batman Beyond'?
Mynd Hed has made a valid observation, they should have gotten Tim Daly to reprise the voice role of Supes in 'The Call'. That voice actor in that ep. was awful.

I couldn't have said it better myself, Superman remains the Best over all, as he is a character everybody aspires to become. He is a Great person at heart and even though he is an alien, he accepts himself as a regular human being, a mild mannered character, hey I sometimes wish there were more people like that, the word would indeed be a better place. :)
