View Full Version : Regarding Glowing Text

There was a reason that the glowing text was never made public, and everyone is displaying that very reason now.
Glowing text can get annoying... FAST!
So, if I find it's being overused (and that includes in Sig Lines too... so if you've got it in there, either cut down on it, or get rid of it completely!), it will be removed from the board... capice?
*EDIT*
Due to it's incessant irritatedness, Glowing text has gone the way of the [username] tag, for those who remember it... Good Riddance!

[heavy sarcasm]Oh thank you SO much for the warning, how long was that up before you decided to get rid of the feature? I notice there's no "last edited" note on the post, so you had to have done it very soon afterwards your first post.[/heavy sarcasm]
obviously I saw nothing wrong with it and am sorry to see it go, it would have been nice to have known people had a problem with it, personally I would have been happy to cut down the amount of the text. I'm very willing to accomodate, just not very appreciative of being blown off like I don't matter.

Oh well, my sig glowed red for a day at least. I do find the "banned because its annoying" reason biased, however.

It's not biased, you're just upset because you wanted to have your sig glow. :p Besides, it's a board hack and technically shouldn't be there in the first place.

If it is a crime to want my sig to glow, then I am guilty. :p The glowy function had it's day of fame, I'm over it now.

It was made after the abuse of the feature became unacceptable.
Toon Zone is now glow free.

This is what happened to me, I log off of my work computer at around 6, log on at home a little before 11 and find that my signature is a mess of VB code. I felt genuinely embarrased and then gunuinely offended. I don't go out of my way to make enemies and definitely am not some sort of troll posting things just to be annoying, but that's how I feel I've been treated.
I think my attitude is appropriate. Notice the time of Colin's post and the time of my post? 5 hours- absolutely not enough time to comply with the request. The glowing text was only discovered in the first place a couple days ago, and I for one had only put my glowing signature up around 11 a.m. yesterday. Is this really enough for it to become unacceptable abuse? Especially considering that only maybe 4 people were using it at the time? I give Colin the benefit of the doubt, I figure he ran this by other people before doing this, but the way it's worded and the way it was executed it comes off like a power trip to get rid of something he personally didn't like.

Thank you for that explanation. I didn't know it was a board hack.

I think it's kinda sad. I didn't want to use it in a sig, but I did use it in conjunction with an electric hamster in the EEEEE! thread. I'm sorry for any displeasure I might have caused anyone. I was just trying to make the world a better place!
*Sigh* My name is luckybob1985, I'm a glowaholic.
:D
Still, though, I think it ended awful quick.
What's glowing text? I know you all don't like it but I'd like to try it or at least see it.
Wait, There's no more Glowing text? Aww, I never even got to see it.
