...We are on the verge of seeing some "new age" WARTOONS?

Or is that times have changed too much that there is no longer interest of expressing American patriotism via animation?

Dang? No responses yet? I though this would've been a interesting subject.

Its just that I got done re-watching the TOONHEADS /WARTOONS tape, and what the narrator (I always forget her name) says at the end of the program, strongly affects with what is going on in the common American's head right now!

Anyone agree/disagree?

I guess if the US actually declares war on someone and we get into a conflict that goes on for a while, then maybe we will see some new war cartoons. Then again, producing a bunch of war related cartoons and then having the conflict end before they are released would create some problems.

South Park will probably do something, though.

OK -

How many people need to die before we get new 'toons?

Am I the only one here saddened by the prospect of (yet) another war?

If it were my call, I'd simply write off this thread as well-meant but unintentionally sick, and move on.

BTW, I was about 10 blocks away from ground zero (among the crowd fleeing north on Broadway) when the second plane hit the WTC. If ever people felt they had just been transported into a new circle of hell, that was the moment beyond question.

First of all, you only posted half an hour before this reply. Second of all, I don't mean to sound harsh, but the possibility of new cartoons should be the last thing on anyone's mind if this does lead to war. In this day and age, a major world war could very well mean the destruction of the entire nation. I'm all for returning to as normal a life as possible (and, to that end, I'm a little disappointed--but completely understand why--NFL and MLB games have been postponed through the weekend), but, really, I just can't think about any positives coming out of this whole mess right now. I live less than 100 miles from NYC, I have friends who were in NYC at the time of the disaster (but thankfully not in WTC), and, where I live, just about everybody knows somebody who knows somebody that was involved in the disaster. So I just can't think about new cartoons right now.

I meant to say that you only made your original post half an hour before you replied. Sorry for any confusion. :-D

OK, I'm sorry if I offended everybody.

Maybe its just that I'm too much caught up in the old "Uncle Sam" ways of living American Life and I understand that we are all in agony over this dreadful situation. So what does that mean? Does it mean that we have met our match? Does it mean that there is no more hope for this country of freedom? As every citizen should realize, the answer is NO! We, as a nation, have always rebounded over the worst of circumstances that this country has suffered. Through natural disasters: Earthquakes, Hurricanes, Fires, transportation-crashes, Pearl Harbor, etc..We have ALWAYS rebounded, rebuilt, and triumphed, to prove to the world that we back our words, and our fate, up! Otherwise this nation would not exist a few centuries ago (Our firefighters, poilce, and rescue workers ,that you see on today's news coverage, are the proof of this)

So maybe it was just bad intentions on my part for looking ahead. If so, I deeply apologize. But today we had a National Day of Mourning . And as the Rev. Al Sharpton said, "The Alarm clock woke us up...It startled us, and NOW its time to get up"..

And by judging the responses I got on this thread, It appears as though "times have changed too much that there is no longer interest of expressing American Patriotism through Animation"...Unless its through sick and dark humor like SOUTH PARK.

Also, Mike, The reason why I waited a half-an-hour for responses is due to the fact that forums.toonzone has more frequent responses than any other message board that I know of.
