I can't stand that little black monster. What's supposed to be funny about a monster that eats cute animals? I wish they did what Fry and Bender suggested when they found him and fryed him up and ate the disgusting monster.

wow. you really have a grudge.

he's there because he's integral to the series, which we'll find out later on. otherwise, he doesn't appear very much in the show.

i dont like him, personally.

but if he is indeed integral to the series like livingfruitvirus said, then i guess he's alright.

Nibbler's origin episode is indeed pretty awesome, but apart from that I can't stand Nibbler. Then again, I've reached the point where I can't enjoy animal (or in this case creature) jokes at all. The last couple seasons of Simpsons have completely destroyed them for me.

I also don't like Nibbler. He seems to have no purpose on the show except crawl around, sit still, eat an object or animal, and use the manure as fuel.

I see Nibbler as an uglier, not as bright version of ALF....but maybe that's only because they both eat cats.....

Nibbler really doesn't bother me all that much, he doens't contribute to the show much , but he's cute when he shows up. I like the way his nostril flares and how Bender hates him. but I guess his, "non integral-ness" is what bothers others about him, oh well.

Since I doubt everyone recognized nibbler as a reference to pop culture, I'll take this moment to explain a little nuance that really makes nibbler more worthwhile:

Nibbler is a take off on Tribbles from Star Trek. An animal that is extremely cute and seems harmless, but causes incrdible problems when you actually have to deal with it. Because of the huge science fiction audience Futurama originally drew, this is a "touchy" subject for many star trek fans who have now come over to the animated side.

I don't know if it's true or not, but I remember hearing that after the first nibbler episode, some Trekkies started a petition to turn the original star trek into an animated series (probably because of how fat Shatner got). So think of Nibbler as an homage to the sci fi greats...

there was already a animated Star Trek Original series in the 1970s which lasted only 22 episodes :)

Yeah, I remember that. It used to play on Nickelodeon for a while when I was a kid

Nibbler doesn't seem harmless or cute, and Tribbles don't eat cute little animals, I fail to see the connection.

I don't mind him, but I'm not very fond of him either.

I really fail to see Nibbler as a character at all, he's juk kinda...there. maybe that's what's annoying about him to people

I Like Nibbler, cute little "pet" with mysterious motives, and he can eat anything. The only thing I didn't like in a Nibbler episode was when he was in the sewer and everyone felt that they had to save him from El Chupanibre. Nibbler could have just eaten the creature!!

For the love of Jah, He's not even a main character ....as a matter of a fact he's only in maybe 1/3 of the episodes, for only a few seconds
