Y Move Yyh?!

when I originally saw the post, I was more mad than anything that yyh eps will be going to toonami, but as I think about it, that is where it belongs...
Don't get me wrong, I love the cussing, kicking ass and taking names spirit detective yusuke. BUT, funi did the dub. Need I remind you of dbz (just sad...)
this was the worst dub (that and pilot candidate) ever done on the adult swim, but it was one of funi's best....
is it just me that thinks like that or what...
FYI I wanted YYH to stay on the adult swim (hiatus it or something, just no toonami)
Let me get some feedback, what does everyone think...

Yusuke was a smartass. Kurama sounds almost the same as the Japanese VA was. Hiei is tolerable. Hell, even that annoying little bird sounded as annoying as the original was.

In fact, all the characters are fine. The only ones that need some work on was Kuwabara and Koenma.

And the reason why it moved to Toonami? Well, my guess is that CN wanted YYH to be the next DBZ.

I still think the AS-edit should run on late-night Toonami Saturdays in addition to the TV-Y7 edit on weekdays.

Well, Dragonball Z has had a few long stretches of reruns, so it doesn't matter if Yu Yu Hakusho has some as well. I think Cartoon Network is really looking for a show to take Dragonball Z's place, with only 14 or so episodes left before that show is over.

YYH will go at least a year and a month without new episodes according to the schedules.

Well it will be moving to Toonamik and there is nothing we can do about that, also I would advise that Inu Yasha has gotten popular and that they are already moving in Regon And Trigun to the line up, that any thing that does not seem that harmless will be moved to Toonami.

I've always found Kuwabara's dub voice to be pretty good. It was a little odd at first, but now I love it. When I watched the dub of the Yu Yu movie released by CPM (with different voice actors) the more or less normal sounding voice they gave Kuwabara (or Kuwahara as they called him) didn't sound right at all.

I think the shows with the most potential to be the "Next DBZ" are either Yu Yu or One Piece. But now that we know the Toonami Yu Yu will be Y7 instead of PG, I think both shows will have trouble. If Toonami gets the Dark Tournament episodes of Yu Yu, it'll be interesting to see how they're handled. There's nothing on them (so far) that couldn't be on AS, but some of it might be too much for Toonami.

I hate Kuwabara's voice with a passion. I hate Chris Sabat entirely. He's a s**ty actor and a s**ttier voice director. The man should be fired. Sent PACKING. Get it? I hate that IDIOT. He's the one that directs the voices in DragonBall Z and can't act his way out of a paper bag.

And Kurama's voice is almost like the Japanese?! Have you even HEARD his Japanese voice?! It's done by a WOMAN. It's actually done by the same woman who does the Japanese Sailor Uranus. I like both versions, but they don't sound alike. And I absolutely love Hiei. Very entertaining.

Edit: WHOA. It let me get passed with S**ttier. I had to come back and change it before I got my clock cleaned by the mods. o.o

They're getting new episodes. YYH has a huge potential to be the highest rated cartoon show on CN. CN's not going to let that go.

I'm not overreacting. Someone who blatently wants to wreck an anime with a horrible dub needs to be fired. FIRED. I mean, come ON. And the writers for the DBZ Dub need to be fired too. Big Daddy Garlic? o.o I'm gonna barf. >.<

I just don't like how they treated Kuwabara's voice. He sounds absolutely horrible. I'd really like the charecter if they didn't screw with his voice the much. That, and unrelated to Chris...

I think One Piece would have made the better "next DBZ." From what I've seen of One Piece so far its tamer than the manga version and wouldn't necessairly have to be cut to bits like parts of Yu Yu will in order to make the y-7 cut.

I'm sorry, but I seriously think Kuwabara's voice is AMAZING! Well no, not really, I mean it's not any amazing feat of acting. But I really think it suits his goofy character perfectly. I can't picture anything much better than that. It's as goofy, weird, and hideous as his face!

And what's with all the people complaining about "Sword get longer!"? Sheesh, can't you take a joke?

Trust me, Chris Sabat isn't a bad voice Director.
-If DBZ is your only indication, then obiously you haven't seen the other FUNimation dubs.
-Chris Sabat isn't a director at FUNimation anymore because he had to put in too much work and had too much stress.
-The actual acting for DBZ isn't bad. He ONLY directs the dub with the actors, and he finished doing the dub for DBZ after the middle of the Fusion saga
-The higher-ups make the final decisions when it comes to scripts.
-His other anime dub, Blue Gender is an AMAZING dub. Close script, good acting, and actors.
-He did not choose the actors of DBZ, he wasnt even Voice Director then.

-Each to his own.
The fruits Basket, Dragon Ball, Lupin III, Yu Yu Hakusho, Blue Gender dubs are very good.

Sorry if I rant too much.

I too hated sabat's killing of kuwabara...but it does grow on you...just saying that toonami sux ass...

Kaiser0120, I feel your pain concerning Sabat. But while I can only stomach a few seconds of him on DBZ, somehow I get through YYH. I guess anime_guru's right about his Kuwabara growing on you. :p At least it kinda did on me. Maybe I'd feel different if I had seen the sub first...

At first, Kuwabara's voice also sounded strange for me.
But after a while, it suddenly grow on me...here's this gruff kinda goofy fellow yet he'll almost do anything to save his kitten and friends.
Hearing any other voice other than the one right now is gonna be hard.
And Kuwabara showing in depth emotion? I don't think we'll have any problem with that. He did it before in the earlier episodes and in the Saint Beast saga also.

And now, back to the topic...YYH in Toonami??? I couldn't believe it the first time I heard about it, as that means I'll be missing the chance to see the dark tournament saga and the Senshi Shinobu(that's his name, right?) saga in CN dubbed nicely and unedited.
Oh well...guess the dream is over.
