They destroyed the historical World Trade Center.....

They destroyed part of the Pentagon.....

They killed countless of innocent lives.....

They disrupted our daily lives.....

They brought "FEAR" into our lives.....

Yes they brought a piece of hell to America!

But by god they won't get the best of us!!! I refuse to let these bastards make me live my life in fear. We will move on! They might as well just give up because they'll never succeed. Within no time at all we'll be back to working, laughing, and watching our favorite television shows. We'll be going on with life. They want us to believe that we are doomed, but in all reality they are the ones who are doomed. With the U.S. officials, investigators, the army, overseas friends, and the good American people all working together, how can these cowards win. They are clearly outnumbered. Now they can share the fear. The fear off being hunted. The fear of spending the rest of their pathetics lives in prision....or worse. And yet all this could have been avoided if they just used their heads. So this just goes to show you not only how cowardly, not only how evil, but how foolish these terrorists are.

I know all this may sound like a nutty ramble (which it is), but I'm angry about this. And I'd rather go to bed ready to fight the odds rather than wimper in fear of the end!" Anyways that's the closure on my opinion of the crisis.

And to the terrorists who did this:

ROT IN HELL YOU BASTARDS!

It's called "terrorism" because it is MEANT to spread terror. Excellent advice is offered above: Grieve your loss, and console each other. But do not give in to fear. Then they win.

Fear is their ultimate weapon, we can't submit to it.

I am not in fear over what happened. Devastated? Yes. Saddened? Yes, but not in fear. I do worry about what they might do if they decide to strike again. I hope Bush strikes first before they can strike again.

Hell I know a ex-mod guy on my street he is currising up and down couse he can't get no durgs since the cops are everywere. Thus right now we are pretty safe. As for week or 2 from now that is a diffent story.

I'm not letting it disrupt me..I did school, mowed a lawn..walked dogs..like nothing else ever happened.

I realize that alot has happened...but..I'm still going to go downstairs...eat breakfast....and read the comic section like any other morning.

If we panic and act rashly, they win. We've got to stay calm and determine beyond a shadow of a doubt who is responsible. Yes, Bin Ladin is a strong suspect. But... there's the possibility that he may NOT have done this. There's the possibility this was done by domestic terrorists. We can't strike blindly and risk sparking a war with a country, any country, that wasn't involved in this. We've got to investigate and be 100% sure who did this... then strike hard.

I think many people have already decided for themselves who they think the culprit is. Such is the beauty of media...

Like I told my brother yesterday, "I'm going to be very upset if the [expletive deleted] responsible turns out to be some disgruntled government employee or a couple of high-school students who got mad because they failed some course, didn't get to march with their buddies, and decided this'd be a great way to prove something." Just like with the Oklahoma City Murrow bombing, we hope it was an outside threat. We were torn apart when we learned it was one of our own and not some nameless [cowards].
America is a large dog. We'll sleep quietly...when there is a threat we will awaken and act swiftly...when the danger is over we will lie down and sleep again as if nothing happened. But like a dog, we sleep lightly and are ever vigilant!

YOU ALL ARE RIGHT!

We will stand through this. Stay calm, and we will show those terrorists idiots we will live through this. That will be a slap in the face to them then, since they will want us to be scared.

The main Japanese Admiral in World War 2 called America "a sleeping giant....and we have awakened him." We have been awakened now.

And I thank all our overseas friends who condem this as well!

I also want to say how extremely thankfull I am on how countries overseas send their cares and prayers. I'd also add:

"The only thing we have to fear, is fear itself."

It's an old quote, we've all heard it, and we've all heard it almost too often. But nothing is more true. All of the fear is in your head. There's so much about our minds that we don't know, and it always makes things worse than they really are.

If there's something that a person needs to accomplish, it can and will be accomplished.

I added something to the post. Just thought it says something about how we feel.

believe me, those responsible will learn what real fear is like when our government unleashes all its fury onto them. they will pay bigtime, we cannot let them get away with it, that isnt an option. very soon, believe me. i mean look at the men running things in the capitol. they arent saints and they'll make sure that the terrorists pay dearly for this, they will be ruthless, i guarantee it.

On his website today, Andrew Sullivan quotes Herman Melville's "The Martyr":

There is sobbing of the strong,
And a pall upon the land;
But the People in their weeping
Bare the iron hand;
Beware the People weeping
When they bare the iron hand.
