Which Darren did you enjoy the best on Bewitched? Dick York or Dick Sargent?

I though Dick Sargent did a good job following up from York and was perfectly acceptable - but where did they find someone who looked just SOO similar?!?!
Interestingly, IMDB has this little titbit - I didn't realise that Sargent was actually meant to be the first Dick!
Dick Sargent was William Asher's and Elizabeth Montgomery's original choice for the role of Darren, but Sargent was under contract with Universal at the time, and could not commit to the series. Dick York (I) was then hired, and Sargent replaced him when York left the series due to increasing back pain.
Both were good. They were both very similar in portrayal though.. :)

I always liked Dick York better and could never really get used to Sargent. I liked the black and white episodes along with the earlier color episodes. I couldn't really get into some of the later ones with Tabitha more grown up and them having Adam.

The first one. Because he was more believable. I saw in an interview about the show on E! a while back that since the second one was gay, when he and Samantha kissed, it just didn't look/feel real. Which I agree with: the second husband spent more time looking frustrated at Samantha's relatives popping up then showing love for Samantha.
That, plus I just like the Black and White episodes more. It was such a shame that the first husband had to leave the show because his back kept getting worse. :(

He just emoted better and showed love and anger and fear and all the rest, whereas Sargent just showed annoyance. I just think that York showed better emotions.
As for the gay thing: Dick Sargent, Paul Lynde (Uncle Arthur), and Agnes Moorehead (Endora) are all reputed to have been gay/lesbian. The acting, especially Lynde and Moorehead, was great. I didn't care.
