Well, I was watching TMNT this morning (the old f.h.e. videos) when I noticed something. I must have a pretty bad memory. In two episodes, "Enter the Fly" and "Hot Rodding Teenagers", the Twin Towers are mentioned, more than once. Actually, it is a semi-important part of the plot.

In "Enter the Fly", Shredder is on top of one of the Towers. In this ep, called the Twin Towers.

In "Hot Rodding Teenagers", the Technodrome is directly under, World Trade Center. In this ep, called the WTC.

So, concerning the confirmed TMNT DVD coming this year (confirmed by DVD Toons), do you think that these two could very well be left out or the eps could be cut big time? Also, do you think they SHOULD be cut or not? Thoughts?

They shouldn't be cut in any way. I can't see "Hot Rodding Teenagers" being cut out because it's an essential episode, as is "Enter: The Fly". There's really no way around either episode without some really choppy and extremely bad editing, which I hope doesn't happen.

Nah, shouldn't be touched. Even though they are gone, the WTC is still a part of NY's history. Besides, it would be foolish to make them seem like they never existed in the first place. (you know, I do remember one of those episodes having a confrontation at the Twin Towers anyway, thanks for jogging my memory)

I see NO reason for editing that out. I mean seriously whats the point of editing out that kind of stuff? To forget that the towers once stood there in New York? I mean really. I know, people may disagree with me but thats just how I feel about it.

There's no (good) reason to edit them. The Twin Towers are part of NY's history so you can't forget them. Besides, it's obvious these episodes take place (and were MADE) before the incident.

The original TMNT show does not look like a cartoon produced recently.

And frankly, this pesky question can go away if the WTC was rebuilt as it was. Stick it to those terrorists at any rate.

I don't think they should be cut...at the time, the towers did exist.

SHOULD they be censored? No, of course not. This foolish impulse to censor any reference to the WTC seems to me like censoring all the Hawaiian references out of Lilo and Stitch because of Pearl Harbor. Not only can't it be done, it shouldn't even be tried.

WILL they be censored? Who knows. It seems like this whole WTC censorship thing is finally dying down, but who knows.
