Since I'm back from halfway around the world, I kind of feel a little like an intrepid explorer..... hence my avatar for the week!!
Well, amidst the shock of entering a whole new temperature zone, I returned back from my holiday last night.... just what the doctor ordered. A few gallons of Dominican Rum does wonders to the soul  ......
Unfortunately for me, the Spanish Cartoon Network is under the same regimentation as our local one- there was a real rarity of classic cartoons to watch down there this time, but you can be sure there was no shortage of Cartoon Cartoons :( .....
What few classic cartoons I did see were edited this time around  . Sighhh. Well, thank goodness for all my friends at the TTTP who continually keeps the lines open for being able to see the really good stuff :) !! It's good to be back!!

Bart, I went to the Dominican Republic with one of my friends. He won the trip in a contest at his work, and got to take another person, so he chose me because I had already been there.
John, we watched the Latin version of cartoon network there. I saw "What Price Fleadom", "Mouse In Manhattan", and "An Itch In Time"..... all gunshots and blackfaces edited. :( Last year anything I saw was uncensored, and I even saw a few Speedy cartoons then as well.
Mostly the only cartoon effigies the residents had around was Tweety and Taz- you know, automobile decals, T-shirts, walkman decorations, etc- there were even a few Tweetys coloured in black, I guess like a sort of Rasta-Tweety. I also saw people with these other Tweety-themed things, called "Extreme Tweety" (on a skateboard, with big helmets on, surfing, etc- whoever thought there was such a thing as an Extreme Tweety  all he ever does is sit in his cage and cry for Granny for the most part) but a few people still had Speedy stuff. I was sure I saw a lot more of him last year, the Hispanics seemed to love Speedy Gonzales. You wouldn't believe how much I looked for a Speedy T-shirt, but to no avail- Gosh, I wanted one of those!
But one cool thing though- I saw a guy from Germany with a great big Woody Woodpecker tattoo which took up almost his entire deltoid and bicep. At least it's comforting knowing that Woody lives on!!
Going to another country usually doesn't to watch uncensored cartoons unless you watch local TV. CN EVERYWHERE cuts the suicidal gags and the blackfaces.
Speedy however still appears on CN here, however. Today I saw "Mexican Cat dance"!

Pretty much all of the WB cartoons, at least apart from 'Confederate Honey' which has the same cuts the US Warner Brothers channel used to give it.
