View Full Version : Can any USB keyboards work on PS2?
I recently noticed that both my keyboard and mouse are USB and started wondering if any USB equipment could work on PS2 or if I would have to buy a PS2 keyboard. I don't really have any games to test it with, I don't think a keyboard works with NFL2K3.

Yes, you can, but it only works with some games.

At first I thought, "Why would they?" Then I thought about the purpose of USB. It IS plug and play which means you can literally plug it in and have it work. So you can take a basic USB keyboard and/or mouse and plug it into a PS2. Now, I don't know about a keyboard with multimedia keys or other fancier buttons or even a mouse with more than 2 buttons. You'd probably need a device driver of some sort programmed so you can use those other keys but then again, would you actually need them? Not to mention you'd need games that would work with them.
EDIT: Something rather ironic and a little off-topic I just noticed. We're talking about USB in this thread. Well, for those of you who don't know, there's another type of interface called Firewire, a.k.a. IEEE 1394. This is my 1394th post. How funny is that? ...Okay, I've talked enough.
