NASA has Ion Engines, and as you SW fans would know, TIE stands for Twin Ion Engine.

I wonder if this means we'll ever get an Ion shuttle called TIE Advanced... :D

To answer your question, Jedi... Eh, it could happen :)

oo, nifty. Hey, I would die laughing and very happy if NASA or something made space vehicles similar to TIE's...man would that be awesome. *debates whether to join air force to begin brainwash the higher-ups*

Surely it should be X-Wings we should be looking at pushing.. I don't know how cool it would be if we started flying around in TIE fighters.. it would be one step away from the white trooper gear and larger mechanical walking carriers.. If we were to go full hog on this, you would need the upper echelon to all be British - so at least I'd have a role as your leader, regardless of where you are in the air force.. :D Now move it Gordon! I want you to make twenty laps in twenty minutes and this time you can ditch the batrope!

I think TIE Fighter wing designs would be efficient, considering they're made up of solar panels. Unlike Vader did, you wouldn't have to worry about your batteries dying.

Nah, just watch it or we WILL make X-wings, and you know what that means. ;) Actaully better yet, A-wings should come first, not only are they A-Wings, but also they're smaller and faster, then the X-wings, TIEs, and the Falcon. :D

As I recall from the computer games, TIE Fighters had no shields, and were pretty wimpy overall. Now, TIE Advanced and Interceptors....now THERE'S a coupla ships!

This ain't about the technical specs. This is about them actually making real ones!!

But after Columbia, who's gonna want to invest?

Forget the TIE Fighter, give me the TIE Defender any day of the week. It's proof positive that the Empire should have won out in the end.

Firstly, if it's from fingers it's cuter than all other forms. Secondly it has a tendency to cry 'What ho old bean' before striking you. It's very polite like that.
