Yeah I know it's a stupid thread but I wanted to see what other people thought.
You see Kellogg's is holding a promotion right now where you can vote on the site to decide if Kellog's should change Apple Jacks to make them look and taste like apple's or keep them the same.
The commercial's been running on cartoon network. I for one am totally for them making the change. More so out of curiousity if anything. Apple Jacks is good but not my favorite cereal so if they changed it I wouldn't cry over it.
Here's the real Poll

Uhhhh.........wouldn't that sort of ruin their advertising? If the whole *point* of Apple Jacks is that kids love it even though it doesn't taste like apple, then how could they possibly continue that if it actually DOES taste like apple?!
These companies are so confusing sometimes...... :D

I think they should just leave it, it is just only a big hastle to why they do this kind of stuff, and sometimes it annoys me a bit.

Apple Jacks has always epitomized the flavor of rebellion. Imagine that -- an apple cereal that doesn't taste like apples. So ironic. So irreverent. So... avant garde. How else is the youth of America supposed to lampoon the tragedy of monotony through the complex simplicity of a breakfast cereal?
"Why do you eat Apple Jacks?"
"Cuz."
"But it doesn't taste like apples!"
"Yah."
"What's wrong with you?"
"(dead stare)"
Some shortcuts should not be forged. First they make self-adhesive stamps, now this. Don't make it taste like apples, you morons! Licking that disgusting stamp glue is half the fun of life!

The only thing I expect from a cerel company is to give that damn rabbit his Trix....It's time he has them, before those stupid commercials drive me even more insane!
I don't eat Apple Jacks, so I don't really care. On the other hand if they do change them to taste like apples, I won't have to listen to those stupid annoying commercials.
***enter stupid Apple Jacks commercial***
Person: Hey guys, why do you like Apple Jacks if they don't taste like apples?
Kids: We just do!! (Then they all laugh as if they've said something very clever)
***exit stupid Apple Jacks commercial***
Oh yea, that explains it.

They promote themselves for years for not tasting like Apples and now they want to change it? Where have all the "We just do" kids gone?

To hell. :p
No, Seriously, they shouldn't change it. It's annoying enough and they dont need to bother me more with a change in taste.

I predict that no matter what the actual vote comes out they aren't going to change the flavor of one of their high profile cereals. It could be disaterous. Vote rigging is the way to go.

Remember New Coke? It was a success story. "But murmur," you ask, "Are you on crack? New Coke sucked!" Why, no, no I'm not on crack, and yes, yes it did suck. But it also reminded everyone how much they loved the old stuff. "Coca-cola Classic" when it was relaunched, was so popular, people wrote songs begging for it. This is a good marketing ploy by Kellogg's. Actually, if they were really smart, they'd do it without a vote and piss everyone off for a month. They'd get Jay Leno and SNL to make fun of them and get in the public eye. Then they'd switch it back or launch it as Classic Apple Jack or something. They'd get made fun of again, get more free press. They'd probably get compared to Coke too. And the boxes would fly off the shelves.

I rarely eat Apple Jacks, but the idea of changing them is silly. I mean, aren't they fine the way they are? Why change? If they do change, they're just contradicting their advertising of the product. What will Kelloggs think up next?

I haven't had Apple Jacks in a looong time (I'm on a Frosted Flakes kick right now), but I love how those Apple Jacks taste and I'd be so PEEVED if they changed the taste of them.

I think it's rigged. I went on the voting site and there's this thing on there talking about Apple Integrated Marketing or something. It has fake charts and stuff talking about How adults know more than kids..etc. I'd still like to taste a new version of the cereal. Just for kicks.
Infact this week I'm going to pick up those new Strawberry Honeycombs.

lets put it this way: apple jacks kick ass and taste good. apples don't. if kellogs wants a apple ceral then they should call it apple crap. the name doesn't matter cause 90% of the people who bought "apple crap" would be 50+ years old.

That caused me to break out in laughter for a good 3 minutes. XD

As much as I find the Apple Jacks commercials annoying, I have a feeling they'd be even worse if they tasted just like apples...
Adult: Why do you eat Apple Jacks if they taste just like apples?
Kids: ........errrr, we just do?
Adult: ....
Kids: .....
Announcer: ...... Ummm.... Sooo.... Buy Apple Jacks...... please?

We finally got to see the Rabbit have is Trix and the world rejoiced. Long story short, don't expect to see it happen ever again. You snooze, you lose :p

If I remember right they did let the Trix Rabbit have some once. In a promotion like the AJ one the company asked kids to vote on whether or not to let him have some and they voted yes. I liked that.
But this Apple Jacks one is silly, they'd never do that. I guess they could have a separate cereal that they could call apple flavored Apple Jacks. (hee hee) Besides, the only people who are going to bother voting for this would be people who eat Apple Jacks in the first place (with a small contingent of smart@##'s). Remember when the people who made Beanie Babies stopped for a number of months and then had people vote whether or not they should be put back into production?
Actually, If I remember right, the whole "They don't taste like apples" line of ads is only about 7 years old. Before that they did claim to taste like apples.
It's all advertising.

I say YES to the change. Curiosity and whatnot. I bet this is really only for show, a purely symbolic act. They've already decided to create an apple-flavored Apple Jacks cereal, this just builds hype and gets kids interested.

Why would Kellogg’s change Apple Jacks’ flavor? Their whole motto is based on how Apple Jacks don’t taste like apples. That’s what makes Apple Jacks….Apple Jacks! I say if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. Apple Jacks have been fine all these years, and I think that if Kellogg’s changes their flavor, they won’t taste as good. I’m going to vote to leave them as the cereal is.

I do not eat Apple Jacks, but the commercials make it seem like a joke or maybe something temporary.
