Another great Bat-creator gets sucked into Crossgen. Read about it here:

I know I'm going to have large heavy objects thrown at my head for this, but:
YEEEEEEEEEEEEEE-HAAAAAAAAAAA!
I'm glad to hear Dixon's going. I'm sorry, but I think his writing is terrible. The sad thing is, I used to like his stuff. I absolutely loved his first Robin mini-series, and some of the other stuff he did around that time. But then, as time went on, everytime I'd read something of his, I'd be really disappointed. I thought maybe it was just my changing tastes in comcis or something. But then my g/f started collecting comics. She was picking up backissues of Batman and Batman-related comics, and she soon discovered she didn't care for any of Dixon's stuff. I looked at what she had been reading of his, and it was the same stuff I thought was poorly done. I made her go back and read the Robin mini (she fought me on it - really, really didn't want to read any more of his stuff). And when she got done, she said: "That was so good! What the **** happened to him?" I dont' know what changed about him, but I just don't care for his recent work, and I'm kind of glad we're going ot get some new blood in.

Well, I think a lotta people will be happy to see ROBIN get a new writer. However, NIGHTWING should be a lot different without Dixon. But I'll bet anyone $10 that Devin Grayson will take over that title.

I'm bummed to see Dixon leaving NIGHTWING. He did such a great job on that title. I'l admit that DIXON's work on ROBIN hasn't been that great as of recently but he's been writing that series for almost eight years! That is a helluva long time to be writing a series.

I'm bummed to see so many people crossing to Crossgen, especially George Perez. Regardless of that fact, I'm excited about his involvement in the JLA/Avengers special, and his recent art in Crossgen Chronicles has been absolutely beautiful!

The main atraction to CrossGen is the fact that they get paid weekly, and not by how many pagesd they write/draw. They get a steady check eevry week, which provides alot of the artists and writers with a sense of security. Many freelancers need that steady money and can't risk staying freelance.
