In The Little Mermaid there's a scene in Under the Sea where Sebastian says, "The blackfish, he sings..." and they show a black-colored fish with big pink lips. I wonder how THIS gag got slipped in. Considering the black horse... thingies, got edited out on Fantasia.

Lots of things got by the Disney censors...Some of them were no mistake, they put them in on purpose..kind of like a signature for freedom of the press. (as stated in an earlier post, Walt dispised the Hayes commision for forcing changes in Fantasia) I do not know for sure, but it is my opinion, I repeat, my opinion, that every major full length animated film, from Fantasia on, till very recently, ( there was talk about some nasty stuff in Lion King) included some type of off color, or what some would call dirty, or nasty stuff. In a theater, it went by too quick to see, just a fading image... Now with stop action VCRS and DVDS that can show every frame, I think that this tradition, is gone for good. ( Only because it would ruin Disney's squeeky clean reputation, not true of course) (Another story, another time) And I do believe that it was carried on by all of Disney's major producers and directors for all those films, if only for a frame, or two or five, just in honor of Walt and his fight to put in was he thought was artistically correct. Of course, none of them would or could ever admit this. Like an in house secret. But again, this is only an opinion.

--that people gripe about the minister's purported priaprism at the end of TLM, when Ariel is clearly bare-butt nekkid as she rises from the water with human legs! Not to mention the giant flatulent warthog in The Lion King, and Timon telling him "Not in front of the kids!!" as he is about to utter the F word.... :p

What was the part in Fantasia that is said to have all those naughty bits that you see if you slow down the film? "The cave of..." something.

It appeared in the last section, "Night on Bald Mountain"..about evil being overcome by good, in this case, the sunrise. (Kinda timely) Anyway, there are devils, and skelatons coming up from what is apparantly "hell" (or some firery cave) and if you go slow with your recorder, or dvd, you will see a large object that looks like a breast. I would say, 7-11 minutes into the part. The object appears on screan, less then a second, probably one half second, maybe 4-5 frames of 35 mm film. You will see it, if you look.
I think that "The Night on Bald Moutain" was put in to show that ultimately, there is redemption, even though evil looks like it is going to win. (I described previously why I thought Disney included that somewhat dirty section)
Similiarly, in the last part of Fantasia 2000, there is a theme that is very close. The volcano blows up, (evil) but there is redemption, and regrowth, within a period of time. Kinda like there is hope, inspite of evil of the valcano blowing up. (By the way, in IMAX, it was really something.)...I might add,and it has nothing to do with toons, but their was an exhibit in Chicago last summer on Star Wars. The exhibit explained that according to Lucas , the 6 films are about the redemption of Anakan Skywallker and his path from good, to evil, and in the last 15 minutes, back to good. (When he throws the emperor down the air shaft, with his last effort) I know that this is a little long winded, but I thought I would add it anyway. Good Luck to all.
