Must be a Swee' Pea theme for the Popeye cartoons.

--to be a kids' theme, with all the cartoons featuring a baby or a chibi version of the lead, like "Porky's Nephew".

Speaking of that short, note the Daffy prototype with the propeller strapped on his bum during the lake race.

I can sympathise with Popeye in "Sock-A-Bye-Baby"...nothing worse that trying to get a baby to sleep and then having to deal with some highway or neighborhood noise waking it up. Wish I could eat a can of spinach and shut my neighbors' Doberman up with my super strength. Note also the Harpo Marx caricature Popeye clobbers.

In "Momma's New Hat", Mrs. Captain fancies herself a movie star (whose name escapes me) as she looks at herself in the mirror. Personally I thought the hat looked better on the horse.... :)

"Mrs. Captain" is really named Lena Katzenjammer. Hans, Fritz, and the Captain call her simply "Mama", though, hence the little-known aspect of her name.
