Ok, don't let the mixed reviews scare you. Plain and simple, if you enjoyed the first game, you are going to love this one.
The only two "complaints" I have so far is the difficulty (easier than dmc) and the menus. The menus don't really effect the game but they look poor (rushed) and are more difficult to navigate than part 1. The fact that I am even thinking about this while playing is not a good thing.
Lets be honest, navigating menus is not why we bought DMC. Its kicking major bootie and this game succeeds greatly. Controling Dante and pulling off impresive combos is easier than ever. I could blast away baddies all day and I would be content. Its that fun. New wall running and flipping moves add to the experience.
It is not an evolutionary step by any means, but more of a continuation of the first. I am just a couple hours in, so I will reserve final judgement until the end.
