I sent an e-mail to Greg Miller today and got this reply:
yeah, we're doing more half hours as we speak...
a LOT of work...
and the network is trying to make me change Robot's voice... sigh...
how is school?
I hope they don't change Robot Jones voice. Is there something we can do? I told him to use the band leader from CAKE (the only band I like) as a voice since he is pretty monotone. I like CAKE as much as Penny Arcade.
Oh, mentioning Penny Arcade, awhile back I asked Greg if the kid wearing a PAC MAN shirt is a homage to PA. He said:
no i've never read it before, but thanks for the link. the pac-man shirt is just because we really like pac-man.. no other hidden meanings, sorry.
Change his voice???? WHY? To get better ratings? I'm not seeing why more people would watch if his voice changed.. and how would they pull it off anyway? A voice-changing puberty episode?

The new episodes should arrive in time for the Summer. It's a 13 episode order, if I'm not mistaken, but it could be more, after how Grim and Evil ended up (6 + 13 + CANCELLED).
Maybe they don't want to give Robot Jones a human voice. Maybe they just want to give him a different computerized voice. I think perhaps they were paranoid about ASA/Robot Jones having the same synth sound, but now that synth sound is exclusive to Jones and Jones only.

I asked Greg if he would try a musical episode for the change.

Ooh, that's a way better idea. Hey Arnold! already did a puberty voice-changing episode about Gerald and frankly I hated it. I'm sure other series did it too but I forget.. But maybe this change will be good? Who knows. But I do think that the creator should be able to decide what to do with the series.

I suspected they might want them to do that. I have to admit that Robot Jones's voice isn't the best, but I can't picture them changing it.

I'm happy and sad. I'm happy that it's finally getting more episodes. I'm sick of watching the same 6 ones for... how long has it been?
I'm still confused, i wanted Robot Jones to win the first pick, but i wasn't happy (maybe i should say, i didn't care) when it eventually became a show... oh well
Ok...
New voice?! :p Boo!
I like the old one, like when he said "What the heck?" it just sounded funny with his voice. I'll have to see wut the new one is like though before i jump to conclusions

And it is too bad if they had to change the voices, but if it is somthing rating wise, I think somthing is going on around here.
