Cartoon Network's four show programming block has thrived in its new format. Adult Swim is the most popular block of programming for adult males 18-34 in its timeslot. Its audience has grown as well, with 67% more adults 18-34 watching. The number of men of that age watching has doubled.

That demographic scored a 1.4, btw.
Expect to see Futurama within the top.. 60 or 70 Telecasts, I'd say.

So Adult Swim is kicking some ass in the charts, that's some good news indeed.

Well, Inuyasha in particular is doing great with girls 18-34.

Oh, well, good thing it'll be going away soon!

I always watch Inu Yasha every night and now I'm addicted to Lupin so I watch that every night, too... :p I'm glad to know there's at least a few other girls besides me who watch Adult Swim...hehe

I've noticed that Inuyasha especially is appealing to both guys and girls, even though it is passed off as a 'guy' show.

I know about 20+ assorted people, male and female, who watch Adult Swim.

Well, here where I live I've never known of any girls to ever watch AS or anything remotely like it...I'm an odd person!

Any word on how well the action shows are doing? It's becoming a given fact that the comedy programming does well, and will continue to do better and improve all the time - it's the action stuff that worries me, with the lack of advertising and all.

I can't wait for DST to end... it has been impossible for me to stay up past Futurama, and rarely home movies, so there's probably not a lot of ratings in my region because people who have jobs can not stay up till Lupin or Inuyasha without the aide of a bucket of coffee in the morning.

I think ratings might jump even more by June when High Schools and Colleges are out for Summer since more people will be able to watch without really having to worry about being somewhere the next day, unless you work or go to summer school

Is Inuyasha being pulled from Cartoon Network for good, or will it be brought back on after a while?

It's good to hear AS's ratings are going through the roof, especially with both genders.

It will almost definetely be back, though CN has been known to make some pretty ****** decisions, so....

Glad to know there's a few of us out there. I'm the only female at work who watches it, but I'm bit of an animation junkie than most girls my age anyway. :harley:
I'm glad to hear that Adult Swim is doing well in the ratings. It's nice to have something to look forward to in the evenings after a busy day on the job.
OK -- sorry, I know I'm coming in on this one a little late and it's off topic, but just wanted to put a quick blurb.

Me too, I don't know any other females who watch AS besides me. :(
Nice to know I'm not alone! :D
I love Lupin and IY.

Well IY seems to have my vote, and I hope it will stay like this.

Well, outside of the forum, it seems it's hard for us to find other girls that watch Adult Swim. Being so into videogames & anime fits me well as Japanese, but in the states, most guys drool over that quality in a girl it seems. ^_^

is there a way I can guarantee that I be counted as part of the ratings, i lways fear that some losers that watch ESPN all day are the ones that have those.

I don't know for sure how it works, but I think if you have an addressable or digital cable box, what you watch is counted in the ratings.

my sister once got a thing involving cable ratings. it was a little chart type thing and you marked down whatever shows you watch. i don't know if this was something special, but, well...um...i cant think of a way to end this reply. so ill just stop. now.

I was fortunate enough to get one of these surveys (you basically mark on a graph sheet what you watched, when it was on, and what channel it was aired on) the same week AS weekdays started. Of course, I gladly marked down every single time AS was on (aside from Ripping Friends - don't want to support that!).
It only lasts one week.

Maybe if no one watches Ripping Friends, they'll cancel that and air Inuyasha reruns in its place.

i was looking on fark.com and thought this was relevant to the conversation. the article itself has nothing to do with adult swim, but if you read the comments you'll notice a few references to yesterday's futurama.

i just thought it was interesting...

Yeah, I hope that the action stuff is also getting good ratings. Mind you, the three people I know who picked up Adult Swim once the new weeknight schedule started are ONLY watching the action stuff (with IY and YYH being the favorite shows). So in my small world at least, the action shows are definitely hits! :D
And please put me on the list of girls who watch AS too!;)
