For those counting the days until the new Spider-Man cartoon, Mainframe has added a short teaser page to the site. Provided is a breif desciption and a small image. Included in the image is, apparently, Electro.

Looks cool, and I'm glad to see it isn't completely gone . . . still, wonder if Mainframe knew that Columbia-TriStar Domestic Television is now Sony Pictures Television.

Uh... eh... From what I've heard, I'm not too excited about it and I'd rather see what Peter anf company look like... Electro looks electric, hopefully he isn't some mindless energy draining monster.

seems like it isn't a Spidey cartoon w/o 3-D computer graphics
is this thing even ready for a Fall premiere?
we've been waiting too long for this show. it's getting tiresome.
mtv is notorious for bumping programs.
i remember the debut for Daria was pushed back several months.

We already have seen Peter, MJ, Harry, and Spidey... check out Comics2Film's Spidey animated series archives, there are pictures there. I'd link you but I'm too lazy. :(
And don't worry, Electro won't be mindless... he'll be a college classmate of Peter's who falls into some powers.
My god. Electro is an eyesore. Why didn't they just use Mark Bagelys Ultimate Electro design. Why does he look EXACTLY like that Hulk villian. Zzzzappp or somat like that. He was in the Hulk cartoon. Ugh. They better not screw up any more villians like this. Jesus Mainframe if you'r going to do something do it RIGHT!
Electro does look better than the comics Electro, who looks like he has a yellow starfish for a mask. I can't wait until this show starts. BTW, when does it actually start? I've read they have 13 episodes already done.

...I still remember the sad fate of "Max Steel." I was astonished that Mainframe and Foundation did such remarkable animation on those series - against a deadline and with second-guessing by the producers about the show's content. And the show got the back of the hand by Kids WB.
Peter Parker's personal life is the heart and soul of the Spider-Man stories, and they'll have to do a good job of showing that. If they're only interested in doing elaborate web stunts and fight scenes, the show will lose. (On the positive side, the first episodes of "Max Steel" were good at showing that guy's civilian life.)

I read that the series should debut in April. I really hope the show debuts soon - I'm really looking forward to seeing some new Spider-Man adventures!

Uhhh.. is it just me or is anybody else wondering how the heck this show ended up on MTV?

I think Mainframe wanted the show to appeal to the older demographic. Instead of aiming towards the Saturday morning crowd, they want to get the same crowd that watched Daria, UnderGrads and Clone High. They want more of a young adult audience, then the usual child/tween audience that watches this show. And since MTV is supposedly the "hip" network that more kids watch, they probably believed that was thebest choice for the show.
I'd prefer to see this show on primetime on some other network, though.
Yes, that's indeed right, the new series is for an older audience, than the usual saturday cartoons, so I've read. I'm glad it's on cable, I don't really give a damn what network it's on, I just didn't want it to be a "Y" or "Y7" rating kiddy show. From what I've read they're making it a "PG-13" rating, for an animated series that's a pretty good rating, they can do alot more with the characters and stories.
And unlike the 90's animated series, he's gonna be punching like hell. Can't wait...hope it's good...or even great.

I am intruiged to see how this series will play out. If it's for a more adult audience, then there may be some interesting storylines coming. While the designs are lacking here and there (Mary Jane and Harry Osborn look...iffy), the shows still has some great potential. It could be the best version, yet!
