Recently on CN they aired Patient Porky and An Itch In Time. Suicide wasn't cut on An Itch In Time but the elevator scene in Patient Porky was.
Why was this cut?

And why was this not cut?

Reasons? Opinions? Thanks and have a nice day :)

Chris~
Just in brief, the "Itch In Time" suicide via revolver gag is routinely cut on CN, EXCEPT on the Bob Clampett show, extremely few exceptions. .(I can't tell you how many times I've shot myself in the head with a Colt revolver after watching this cartoon!!!) ;) ;) ;) :p ).
The African-American elevator operator gets snicker-snacked every time CN shows it (again except on the Clampett show as Jon Cooke notes below, oops my oversight-sorry). The idiotic political correct attitude is that all African American males must look exactly like Anglos except with darker skin. (All genetic features of African ancestry are to avoided at all costs). Since this scene features the elevator operator with verrrry large lips, he is persona non grata in extreme. And the fact that he moves slowly makes him even more of an outcast. Ya do know that he could have his color changed via computer...!!! If that was done then he'd be in every showing.

"Patient Porky" is also shown unedited on the Bob Clampett Show (which is where you saw the recent uncut showing of "An Itch in Time"). In fact, ALL cartoons on Bob Clampett are uncut. I recommend you set your VCR! :D

The unedited black and white of "Patient Porky" rarely airs, with the exception of it being on LNB&W two times. The most recent it has aired was March 12, 2001. Also, has anybody seen episodes #10 and #16 in the past few weeks? CN seems to not want to play #10, for some reason. Possibly because of the uncut "Hare Ribbin'" in it? Or is it the fact that they hint on the cartoon having an other ending.
