Okay, I missed the first 8 episodes of Inu Yasha so I don't know that lot about his family so those that do know alot about his family can you please tell me what exactly happened to
Inu Yashas's father and what did he look like? Also what happened to Inu-Yasha's mother and why dosen't he just go back to her? Another question does Sessmoraru(sorry if spelled wrong) control the all lands to the west and those this make him a king? Final question do we ever get to see more of Inu-Yasha's family like a uncle or something?

We don't know his father's name. All we've actually seen of his father is his grave and a painting. His mother was killed and we often see flashbacks of her in the early episodes along with chibi Inu Yasha. As for Sesshomaru, yes, he's the Lord of the Western Lands, which he inherited from his father. And no, we don't even know if Inu Yasha has any other family.

Inu Yasha's father is a giant demonic dog.
He died while fighting his greatest enemy, Ryuukossei, the dragon-like monster you can see in the closing credits.
Inu Yasha's mother was human, and is also deceased. Sesshomaru isn't so much a "King" as he is the leader of a faction of followers from his homelands, formerly led by his father. No other relatives have appeared so far in the Anime.
