in Ep.3? Any speculations? I for one hope Lucas kills off this character. It would be symbolic seeing as how Jar-Jar is a symbol of innocencein Ep.1. Maybe Anakin will showcase his force choke for the 1st time.

Jar-Jar: Ani! Ani What yousa doin? Yousa...ACCCKKK!!!!!

Heres an idea, as Aniken`s first major act of violence he kills Jar-Jar.

I still think all the revelations of the first 3 movies were merely a ruse. In the next Star Wars movie we discover that Anakin is really dead and Darth Vader is really Jar Jar.

That would be a nice idea for an alternate reality Star Wars!

I think he will, unfortunately. Hopefully he'll lose his life for a good reason than just in cold blood, the thing is however the hoards of people who'll have to make a big deal with all their "woohoo! Jar-Jar Stinks is dead!!! Wooooooh!" As if people who complain about Jar-Jar aren't already annoying...

When the rumour came out that George was going to redo ANH and put Jar Jar in there, I made a joke to my friend about Luke not being the chosen one and it really being Jar Jar. That would make for some interesting fan fic.

Somehow I feel the character does not lend itself well to scenes of heart and nobility...

So it be best to just quietly shuffle him off the series somehow.

Not that I care. This whole "prequel" thing is starting to not exist in relation to the original trilogy, in my mind.

I don't think so. Jar Jar is there for the kids. A marketable product and simple gags to keep the kids amused. Of all the characters - and it hurts saying this - he is the least likely to die. That won't go down well with kids and parents.

I also think that if Jar Jar dies it should be doing some noble deed. Possibly buying time for Amidala and Obi-Wan to escape with the twins

(Anakin enters the room)

Anakin, in a flat voice: "Where is she?"

Jar Jar has never been more scared or more brave: "She's we're yousa no can hurt her". He takes a defensive stance.

Anakin lets out a brief chuckle: "You're out of your league, Gungan". Anakin begins to choke the Gungan using the Force. "Where is she?", the fallen Jedi asks again, this time more agitated.

Jar Jar is in great pain. He briefly shuts his eyes before opening them again and looking over to his former friend. "Mesa...no...tell" he croaks. Anakin has had enough and finally ends it. Jar Jar slumps to the floor, dead.

A little dark, but it's just a brief example of the sort of heroic ending I'm hoping Jar Jar gets.
If he does die, I hope the theater I'm in doesn't start cheering

Jar Jar won't die. It'd play exactly into fan expectations, and since when has George Lucas done that? My guess is he'll volunteer to live with Padme and Bail Organa on Alderaan, looking after Leia.

ROTJ: Super Special Edition:

"You remember your mother? Your real mother?"

"Just images, really. She died when I was very young. Her loyal attendant named Jar Jar took care of me. She was very beautiful..kind...but sad. Jar Jar, however, was always happy."

ROTFL!!! :D

SJJ probably has the right logic here... Though it pains me that our least favorite Gungan will not suffer a slow painful termination, he probably will live because of the kiddies.

Then again, those kiddies who saw Ep. 1 will be old enough to see him butchered and not bothered by it

What? In the same way Lucas pandered for the original's 'grown up kids' in Episode VI by introducing the Ewoks? Or the way he has pandered to the adult audience in his new films by introducing the likes of Jar Jar in the first place? ;)

Nah, every film is to make money. Apparently - and I find this hard to believe - Jar Jar makes them a lot of money. He will not die. That I promise you.. :D

Well then he would still die with the destruction of Alderaan, which is the way I think it'll happen. Either he'll be on Naboo that will be the first test for the Death Star prototype (since it had to be in AOTC with Geonosians and Dooku) or he'll be with Bail Organa on Alderaan when it blows.

Maybe Lucas will make a DTV release ("Ewok Adventure" style) after the third movie comes out entitled "The 90-Minute Death of Jar-Jar." That way, everyone is happy.

If he does like verbody has said, I hope it's brave death. I don't want them to kill him just to kill him.

Jar-Jar will never die, but I always thought that to get the whole theatre cheering in the opening of the last film, it'd be cool if there was a shot of Tatooine's blazing hot sky panning down to seeing Jar-Jar crucified to a iron 'X' with Boba Fett standing out infront of him.

That's an opening I'd like to see.

I think the genocide for the Gungans theory makes sense, because it explains why there are no Gungans in the the later movies in the timeline. I bet a lot of races are wiped out when the wars really get rolling.

RockItShipper

I think Gungans would've popped up in one of the SEs if they were meant to survive the prequel trilogy...

Um, anyway.. look at this. :D http://cartoons.ashtonpress.net/ewoks.jpg

No matter how noble his death, it would get cheers. I think. I dunno, it would have to be really morbid to stun people out of cheering...

I think Jar-Jar was put in the Trilogy to die, think about it, Jar-Jar is the ultimate symbol of innocence in the PT. It would be symbolic if Anakin killed him.

I hope so, because if you think about it he started the Clone Wars. Remember Jar Jar was the one that brought up ordering the Clones to "Defend" the Republic. Now sooner or later the Clones switched sides which probaly led to the downfall of the Republic.

Polychrome

That's just it. The clones don't switch sides, everybody else does.

The republic becomes the empire.

I just can't see Lucas killing his number one merchandise material. If they want betrayal, they'll get him to kill Padme. She doesn't sell as well.. ;)

Gee, he's semi-important in the prequels, but yet he's not seen in the Trilogy...I can't see him living.

I either think he'll go to Alderaan and help Padme with Leia (and then die there in "A new Hope" when it explodes) or die somehow in the 3rd movie. ( I hope not. Hes annoying but... it would be really depressing to see him die :( ) I personally think him going to alderaan makes the most sense because he serves Padme through out the trilogy and its his nature to want to help the most he could. Plus we don't ever see him again...

Jar Jar is the ultimate symbol of innocence? When you say it that way, I hear little churchbells ringing, and I picture a halo around Jar Jar's head, while his big chuby hands are clasped in prayer...it's a very, scary image. Maybe you mean the ultimate symbol of ignorance...

I'm starting to think that our hatred(or at the very least my own) for jar jar is what fuels his ambitions for life.

Could you imagine Jar-Jar lying or taking a cookie out the cookie jar? He's harmless he wouldn't hurt a flea. He's clumsy but he doesn't have a bad bone in his body.

Jar-Jar isn't merchandise material...he's hated and despised. Owning anything with his NAME on it is looked down on. No one's going to buy his shirts, his toys, or his juicer. At least....not in the States.

I don't despise Jar-Jar as much as certain other people do, but I certainly wouldn't mind seeing him die. I highly doubt it though.

The way depicted by other posters sounds good. Killed by Anakin for protecting Padme.

Fans won't expect it though. Because in their hearts they know that their innermost desire will not come to be. Jar-Jar will survive to torture them another day.

It's not because he's a kiddie icon. The kids who met him in Episode I can handle his death in two years. And he didn't play a big part in Episode II, so he is an expendable character.

No, he'll survive for the simple fact that fanboys everywhere hate him. He's the symbol of all the prequels' so-called "failures" and if he dies then it'll feel like Lucas is admitting that these movies weren't his best work.

(For the record, I LOVED Episode II. I want Jar-Jar to survive so all the critical Prequel bashers can scream in agony. *evil laughter*)

Over a year before Episode 1's release, Lucasfilm's presentation for people selling licensed products included Jar Jar as a character they strongly believed would move piles of merchandise. I found this out from a woman whose company made OT and Episode 1 beach towels, Jar Jar having his own because of the belief in his marketibility.

I'm not a fan of noble, a cold blooded murder that takes a really really long time would suit me just fine. I wouldn't even mind taking my kid sis to the movie. "see, don't ever annoy people that much, look what happened to jar jar"

If he's so hated and dispised, then why are people, including you, here standing up for him?
