I resently watched Bosko's Picture Show, and it sounds like he says the F word. Does he really say that, or does it just sound like it? If it really does say that, was that word a bad word then? Did it mean something else?

This has been debated many times, and it's been said that maybe Harman and Ising slipped that "F" word in there (was this cartoon pre-code?) as a hidden insult to Leon Schlesinger.

We have discussed this before, including this thread (http://forums.toonzone.net/showthread.php?threadid=371) and this thread (http://forums.toonzone.net/showthread.php?threadid=418).

What a naughty boy Bosko was that day!
I hope if we ever do get LT/MM DVD's that they keep the swear word in,it could pass right by and no one would notice.

Bit o' trivia: I've read something by Roger Ebert saying how this cartoon, if it really does have the F-word as many believe, holds its place in history as the first time the F-word was used in theaters.

If I remember right, wasn't "The dirty cur!" the original version. And, "The dirty F***!" was slipped in by pranksters?

To me, Bosko's talk simply sounds like "That dirty folk!" Nothing to do with intercourse, if you ask me.
