The long wait for the hit US cartoon of the classic game, Mega Man, on DVD is finally over. At long last it has been released today by ADV. I just snaged a copy at Best Buy today for $18. Its a 3 disk set that contains the first 13 Mega Man episodes. Unfortunaly there are no extras, no special features, no foreign languages or subtitiles, but it contains the full episodes and they have been untouched in the editing room since they're first apperance on TV. It also shows previews for Sailor Moon, Medabots, and yet another US video game show comming soon to DVD, Street Fighter. A must have for all Video Gamers and Otakus.

I've got this on order from Amazon and can't wait until they ship it to me. And I really have to commend ADV for diving into the "Cartoon" market and giving their releases the proper treatment...ie, season sets, eps in order, etc.

Although, I have no plans to pick up their Super Duper Sumos and Darkstalkers releases...I'm still up in the air about Street Fighter.

Is this the USA Network cartoon? I remember watching that, right before Savage Dragon. Ah...memories.

The set was only $18 at Best Buy? So tempted...

Yes it was on USA. I heard its on that Family Fox channel now. They also plan on releasing the US Darkstakers series. I hope they don't edit out the language for the kids because thats why it was canceled in the first place. :(

Why? It was poor representation of the game.

I bought it.

Two weeks ago.

It's weird I found it at Hastings amongst the Anime titles and got it.

I'm guessing this is the proper cover-art:

No problem...it's definitely better than that yellow cover they previously had.

BTW, the MM cartoon isn't anime. It was made by Ruby-Spears in the US back in 1994.

I borrowed it from my friend and I've gotta say it's still just as good! I'll probably have to pick up both volumes eventually (I wish TMNT had box sets.. and DW... oh but I can dream). Anyway, I think the show should be on SVES (as I have stated in the CN forum) and it's great to see it again. Man I love that theme song... The show is a little corny most of the time, but hearing Ian Corlett (either the first or second Goku) and Scott McNeal doing roles in it is quite a treat. I didn't realise it back when they were on TV in 1994, but now I do. Corlett is the freak'n man and McNeil is even better! Protoman sounds a lot like Duo where as Dr. Wily sounds a bit like a really old rougher Piccolo/Wolverine-ish voice with a hint of mad scientist for good measure.

As for the cover... It's better than the yellow one, but MAN that picture of Mega Man is so ugly that it's scary. Just looking at his chest and face make me cringe...
