Check it out! If anyone should be the artist for an animated book, if not all, it should be Min S. Ku! Great work...

Min K. Su's work is a little above Beatty's pencils, yet below Rick Burchett's. He's got the curves down, but he hasn't found the right balance between them and the striaghter lines. I hope you guys understand what I mean here: The figures look awkward sometimes. Look at BB#13 is it (the Batgirl/Scarecrow issue). Batgirl didn't always look so good and neither did Babs Gordon. For me, I have to like an artist whose work looks like it has captured a moment in the character's life. When you look at the picture, you should either see the movement (as if it is about to run or jump or slouch etc) or the pose (a position so attractive, that the character doesn't move, like on a the JL wallpaper on this page). Su's work looks like an imitation of Timm's and Rick's. It is neither sleek nor straight. In fact it looks as if he is a fan trying to copy an image in a how to draw batman book. Those villain poses are so unorigional they look like they came off the packaging of a toy.
I am disappointed that someone better qualified could do the debut issue of JLA rather than Ku. It just looks too forced, much like Beatty's and Hampton's art (ick!). I wouldn't mind seeing an issue of Gotham Adventures in someone else's hands though:mad:

I was also a bit disappointed when I heard that Min Ku would pencil the first issue of JL. Sure he's good but he doesn't match Burchett, Levins, or Rousseau. His career has just started and his art is obviously not flawless.
I like the picture a lot but the perspective looks a bit off to me and some characters (such as the Joker or Inque) lack consistency.
To tell you the truth, I think Min pays too much attention to the models and neglects the style itself.

The pic I posted was from early on in ku's career. I like his art, and he is just getting started on his career. Burchett didn't start out perfect with his first issue, same with Templeton or Parobeck. They are started out and needed time to work out their kinks and flaws. Just give it time. He's done a great job on SUPERMAN ADVENTURES and his work on BATMAN BEYOND was very good. Granted there were a few mistakes but that is expected.

Personally, I like this pic. Based on just this pic, I'd much rather have Ku on the animated titles over Levins and Rousseau.

That picture is a dream come true. Bat's by bat's. Side by sides. That is my new desktop picture. Maxium sweetage. Really that picture is to drool over like Bird Boy said.

I personally think Ku's work is really awesome. It is easily better than Levin's, no disrespect to him at all, JMHO. I think JL #1 is going to look real good and can't wait to get it in my hands...

I'm eager to see how Ku handles Green Lantern mostly. Then again, I'm eager to see any of his work on that title.
