Most here probably know this by now, but Disney is offering a free DVD with the pre-order of Snow White & The Seven Dwarfs. Well, not exactly free as one has to pay a $1.99 for shipping & handling.
Here are the choices:
-- 101 Dalmatians
-- Fantasia
-- Fantasia 2000
-- The Jungle Book
-- Lady & The Tramp
-- The Lion King II: Simba's Pride
-- The Little Mermaid
-- Pinocchio
I've yet to decide which one I'll get. I already have both Fantasias. Any recommendations, or reasons for picking one over another?

One thing to say about the Snow White DVD: it has a surprisingly striking cover design, which is unusual for most Disney DVDs (or VHS', for that matter).

101 Dalmations would be my choice. Of course, I like it better than the other ones on that list. It's one of the better Disney movies, IMP

Not much of a choice there. I gues sout of that list, 101 Dalmations seems like the best pick.

I would get either "The Jungle Book", "The Little Mermaid", "101 Dalmatians" or "Lady & The Tramp", because those are titles in Disney's "Platinum Collection". The Platinum Collection is a group of 10 films which Disney has set aside as the cream of their crop, and which will be released once every 10 years. This is the schedule:
2001: Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs
2002: Beauty & The Beast
2003: Aladdin
2004: The Lion King
2005: The Little Mermaid
2006: Bambi
2007: Cinderella
2008: Lady & The Tramp
2009: 101 Dalmatians
2010: The Jungle Book
So the current DVDs of "The Jungle Book", "The Little Mermaid", "101 Dalmatians" and "Lady & The Tramp" are no longer being produced, and may not be available again for a very long time.

I'd go with Pinnochio. The other movies, the ones that will be PE DVDs, I'd wait until they came out. But that's what I'm gonna do.
I like what Fantasia was trying to do, but I just couldn't sit through it all.
And Lion King 2? Don't get me started.

I don't believe those are concidered "Disney's Best" I think I agree with 5 or 6 of them but I'd say "Pinocchio" "Alice in wonderland" and "Sleeping Beauty" are much better than "Lady and the tramp" and "101 dalmations".
I don't really like "The Jungle Book" either thats just there because its Walts last movie before he died.
I think PINOCCHIO is probably the best of the bunch. I'm considering pre-ordering SNOW WHITE too, even though I've already got it on LD. Thing is, I've already got SOME version of all the other free DVDs being offered (except LION KING 2), so I don't know which to get either.
Do any of those DVDs have more to offer than the others? From an extras/bonuses standpoint?
BTW, heard they were actually making CINDERELLA 2! Can you believe it?? I guess there's no sacred property Disney isn't willing to rape for a quick buck...

Hey, PlopKat, which DVD did you decide on? :) I finally pre-ordered my Snow White DVD last night, from the online Disney Store, so I will also be getting the lithographs and the 7 Dwarfs pin. It was a tough choice, but I ended up going with The Jungle Book.

I've narrowed it down to Pinocchio, 101 Dalmatians, or The Jungle Book.
I pre-ordered a copy of Snow White at the music store in the mall I work at. I gave some thought to going the Disney Store about 50 miles away but wasn't sure if I'd be able to get there on October 9th. As anxious as I am for this, I was afraid I would end up buying another copy locally before I picked up the other.
I know that sounds insane, but I would probably do it.

one heard an older man ask for 101 Damnations at a video store
