There was a farm theme to Scared Crows, Poultry Pirates and Porky's Poultry Plant. It was interesting to see Geezil in Olive's Birthday Presink, I've read some comics with him in them and wished he'd been in the cartoons more often. This is the only time I remember seeing him in the cartoons, does anyone else remember seeing him in others? Too bad we didn't get to see him interact with Wimpy. I've always thought they could do a few great cartoons on arguments between Wimpy and Geezil. But then Wimpy's not as popular as Popeye, of course, and cartoons that were more about Wimpy probably wouldn't go over as well with the audience.

Geezil put in a brief appearance in one other Fleischer cartoon, "A Clean Shaven Man". (He looked more like his comic strip self in that one.) Later, he appeared in the KFS-TV cartoon "Wimpy the Moocher" (with a plot lifted directly from a Segar Sunday strip), and at least one episode of Hanna-Barbera's All New Popeye Hour, "The Sword of Fitzwilly" (a "Popeye's Treasure Hunt" segment).

I think Geezil also appeared in another King Features Popeye, "Strange Things Are Happening." Both the KFS ones were done by Seymour Kneitel, who used one of his favorte plotlines (at least by 1960) -- the surprise party -- in this cartoon.
Big night for Dave Tendlar and Tedd Pierce on LNB&W last night -- all three of the Fleischer cartoons were done by the Tedlar unit, while Pierce did the story for "Olive's Boithday Presink" and also did the announcing rooster's voice (and may have done some story work) for "Porky's Poultry Plant."

I just finished watching last night's LNB & W and I was pretty disappointed. "Porky's Poultry Plant" is a good cartoon, but how many more times do they need to show it? I'd rather see the Betty Boop cartoons with their original openings, but these NTA prints are horrible! Also how about showing the two Count Screwloose cartoons? Those were great!!

CN only has the rights to the public domain Betty's.
It's a shame Republic doesn't give CN any, since they're seldom seen. (I'd like to see Minnie The Moocher and Snow White in B&W)

"Strange Things Are Happening" is the only KFS Popeye I've never seen. I guess the local station (WTOG 44) didn't have a print of it.
