Think about t "Smallville" is a major hit and so is "C.S.I." Why not combine elements from both into a new "The Flash" show.
Barry Allen a Crime Scene Investigator gets hit by lightning while working on a case and becomes THE FLASH
I would make it more of a Barry Allen show and not just about "The Flash".
Add Iris West a reporter and not an artist.
They can mention her nephew Wally but don't introduce him until somewhere around the 3rd or 4th season.
Villians could be a mix from both of his worlds regular criminals and on occasion the super criminal such as Mirror Master, Captain Cold even Professor Zoom.
This series could actually work again if given the right treatment and respect. The writers would have to go at this the right way it would have to be cast with actors who could make you beieve they are these people.
Agree?
If so who would you cast?
Who would write/make it?
Disagree?
Why?

I say go for it! Let's bring back John Wesley Shipp to reprise his role as Barry Allen! I always loved that show and was very disappointed when CBS axed it!

Would it work if it focused on Wally West instead since he's the current Flash on "Justice League"?

Interesting but I just see Barry as a better character. Like I said utilizing his C.S.I. aspect to back up his story would be the best way to go.
I also loved the old series. I loved the costume design by having his boots look more like his gloves instead of all gold/yellow.
And I would have to play more to the comics by having him being a fan of the original Flash.

I think Wally would fit the more trendy quipping hero orientated characters we have nowadays. I prefer Barry, but I think they would prefer to use a character more similar to JL..

I don't know. I mean yeah it is a cartoon thing for heroes to have the funny one liners but in the live action genre they tend to go for a more mature and drama based which would fit better with Barry. this way appealing to a broader audience.

I would love to see this. Have him in Bludhaven this way you don't have to deal with hiding Batman and the rest of the Bat-family.
Follow the comic and have it a split focus on Nightwing and Officer Grayson. Oracle could do some cameos eventually leading to the pairing up as in the comics.
Now who would you cast? How would you handle it?
I think I remember reading John Wesley Shipp was dead. It might have just been his character in Dawsons Creek. Can anyone confirm this?
I think a live action Flash could work, but I'd only want to see it if they did it right. I don't really want a Lois And Clark series starring The Flash.

I'd caste the guy who played Cole in Power Ranger Wild Force. Good looking, great look, and has show that he has a good martial art prowess.

Okay, I've merged these two threads - we've had a similar thing start before on movies which involve ideas and casting and I could see more of these appearing and clogging up the board. As of which, a handy glued together threads enables you to post on this general subject till your hearts content!

He doesn't have that Nightwing/Dick look to him.
Yes he does have some good Martial Art skills but his acting skills leave much to be desired. Plus I don't think I could ever get the "I'M A GUARDIAN OF THE EARTH!" picture of him out of my head. We would need a good phsyical actor but he would also have to be able to act. Maybe George Eads Of C.S.I.
