I was just watching Blade and guess who I thought would make a cool Jon Stewart? Wesley Snipes. What do you guys think?

We talk about this a lot but since it is Live-Action I'm just going to take a minute and move this darling to Entertainment. The DC Animated Board is just for animated now. ;)
And yeah, Wesley Snipes does sound like a pretty good choice for something like this.

Yes, Wesley Snipes is an excellent choice. But, I also have to give a vote to Courtney B. Vance (Law & Order: Criminal Intent). Both would do well, I think!

I wouldn't go with Jon Stewart I would personally give the G.L. role to Hal Jordan. But since we are talking about Jon Stewart I would have to go with a lesser known actor to portray him maybe Christoper Michael who plays Det. Michaels on 7th Heaven

Samuel L. Jackson, baby. Definitely.
Or why not Phil LaMarr? Just because he's a voice actor doesn't mean he can't do well on screen...

No offense, but I don't want to see Phil LaMarr as GL, did you see him on Mad TV? The guy is too skinny and his head is way to big. Phil is great for the voice and I love his work as a comedian, but live action GL...no way!
I, like others on this board, think at Wesley Snipes would make a excellent GL. He has the body shape and he's a decent actor. So yeah, give Snipes the role. :)

For some reason, I can't get the idea out of my head of Joaquin Phoenix as Hal Jordan.

And can I have a say in this, how would they make a live action JL series, would that be a bit impossable and all to make, kina?

You'd have to have Samuel L. Jackson as John Stewart. I'm not sure any other actor could make this particular Green Lantern compelling enough.

With all due respect to him -- I think he's a great actor -- I think Samuel L. Jackson is a little old for the role. And if you want to do J'onn J'onzz, definitely give it to Laurence Fishburne. I see Arnold Schwarzneggar as Darkseid.

I wouldn't let Schwarzenagger near another DC Comic property with a ten foot bazooka...not after what he did to Mr. Freeze.
Lawrence Fishburn would make a cool John Stewart too. And I don't think Jackson is old for the role at all. It's possible that Stewart is the oldest Justice League member anyway. At least animated continuity-wise. He was old enough to read comics in the sixties, let's place him at ten....add forty years, he'd be fifty. I don't even think Jackson's hit forty-five.

I don't blame Schwarzneggar. I blame the director! That movie was awful overall!

We need Wesley Snipes clones...

My pick is Denzel Washington{I can't believe no had mention him} or if you go for younger Morris Chestnut{The Brothers,Like Mike,Half Past Dead}. Snipes already establish himself as Blade i can't seen him as another super hero and Samuel Jackson even though he's a great actor just don't have the look.

Clearly Sam Jackson does have the look because didn't the JL team model their GL after Jackson?

The Guard are you serious? sheesh!! To me they look nothing alike. But i still think he's a bad choice though.

Well, I remember reading JL interviews where the creators talked about John Stewart being like "Shaft with a Power Ring", and something about Sam Jackson being their model.

I always nominate Rocky Carroll (he's on that CIA show on CBS) for GL.
And Micheal Jai White (Spawn) is usually strong in the running.
