If so, what is your favorite animated crossover? It can be a movie, a TV special, a series, or even just one episode of a series.

My personal favorite is the House of Mouse. It's fun seeing all the Disney characters together, and I always get a gigantic amount of nostalgia watching it.

Also, for just plain episodes, I like the Dragonball/Dr. Slump crossover mini-arc.

I think it depends on the context: how well the two universes 'fit' as well as the way the producers treat it. Gizmoduck on Darkwing Duck worked well, since the shows are pretty close to each other, and even share a major character. However, if it's just a gimmick with shows/movies that are fairly different, anything beyond a cameo can be pretty annoying.

Yes, I enjoy crossovers, if done well. One example that I can think of was the Spider-Man/X-Men crossover that took place in Season 2 of Spider-Man. The episodes were The Mutant Agenda and Mutant’s Revenge. Here's a summary:

Spider-Man's neogenic mutation is making him ill so he seeks the aid of Dr. Charles Xavier, a scientist known to help mutants ... but Xavier does not "cure" mutancy, only helps people like the X Men to accept themselves and control their abilites. Disappointed, Spider-Man takes off with Hank McCoy (known as the Beast) in pursuit who suggests Spidey seek out Herbert Landon, a man he once worked with who continues to look for a cure. When Beast does not return, Wolverine decides to track down Spiderman...

As for fan fiction crossovers, it's kind of iffy. I find that the best ones are ones where the author knows both universes and gives the reader a good reason as to why the people from those universes are meeting.

My response was going to literally be "Eh," so naturally, that was my choice.

It depends on who you got, and how similar their worlds are. DuckTales & Darkwing Duck have alot in common with their shows. The same can be said about Dexter, and The Powerpuff Girls. House Of Mouse, in my opinion, is A bad example because you have different characters from different worlds, and timelines that have absolutely nothing to do with eachother.

I totally agree. Some crossovers are okay.

Fanfictional crossovers are very edgy ground. With me, I hate really badly done crossovers. The good ones are plesant to read but I've seen so many bad ones. They get to be dumb when the writer doesn't even make any decent sense and only the author would understand half of what is going on.

I would like to see more of the superhero crossovers. Im fine with good ones where things make sense.

Comic wise, I enjoyed the little thing with Harley Quinn and Ivy on Superman's home territory. Very funny!

I voted yes, but I would have picked "They're ok" if that was an option. I think there is usually a good and a bad side to crossovers. My favorite part of them is seeing the characters interact with others that they normally wouldn't. I don't have a particular favorite now but Kingdom Hearts is pretty good.

Yeah, that Darkwing and Gizmo crossover was perfectly done.

I enjoy crosssovers myself... still like "The Jetsons Meet the Flintstones" as cheesy as that one was...

Re: Fanfic crossovers: think I've managed to beat that cliche into the ground, what with making Stewie Griffin of "Family Guy" fame a constant foe of the Brain (and writing one where Brain and the Powerpuff Girls go up against Stewie in a PPG-PatB crossover story)... whether all this falls under "being so dumb the writer doesn't make any sense" I'll leave up to the rest of you... :-)

Yes. Unless it's a bad crossover like Rugrats and Daria, but that would probably never happen.

I would definately like to have a dream cartoon/anime crossover.

Just imagine about Bugs, Daffy, and Slyvester meeting with Spike and the crew of the Bebop and the Love Hina girls.

That's my dream crossover.

I said "eh." I guess it depends on the characters and the content of the crossover itself. I watched "The Jetsons Meet The Flintstones" sometimes when I was little, and I like The Critic meets The Simpsons.

They're fun, but ultimately unsatisfying, they never really get to the core of interaction. Favourite? Johnny Bravo meets Scooby Doo. There was no need for much depth so the whole thing just flowed taking pot shots at both sets of characters!

I love crossovers! They're so cool! :D

I love the World's Finest with Batman and Superman working together, and not to mention their villains, Joker and Luthor.

I also love the Spider-Man crossovers such as Spider-Man with the X-Men, Spider-Man with the Fantasic 4, and Spider-Man with Captain America.

I also like the Powerpuff Girls with Major Glory.

Crossovers are a kind of iffy situation. It only works, if they're is some strong relationship between the two. Spiderman and X-men, now that was cool. Rugrats and the Wild Thornberrys, now that makes me cringe!

the only two crossovers i ever liked was the simpsons with the critic and the brak show with space ghost.

Depend on the shows and themes.

The Spiderman episode where the X-Men appeared worked well because they were all superheroes.

On the other hand, a crossover between Batman and Bugs Bunny would suck.

Well, it actually happened---sort of; see the late 90's four-issue miniseries "Superman and Bugs Bunny" (basic plot: the Dodo [of "Porky In Wackyland" fame, in all his "black and white" glory] and Mr. Mxyzptlk team up to wreak havok on both the worlds of the Looney Tunes and the DCU... in the only issue I have, Bats has a run-in with the Penguin in the top hat [from the LT cartoon where Bugs winds up in the Arctic] while he's trying to hunt down the, erm, Penguin...).

I do not like crossovers. Characters meet others that they were never intended to. I do not usually like the stories put into them. They satisfy some of the people who ask "what if" questions.

Tell me about it. I think what made me hate "House of Mouse" even more is the fact that there was a fanfiction writer named David Gonterman who mixed nearly all Disney characters together in his stories, as well as made Mickey Mouse use Sailor Moon magic, had nearly every female fall head over heels in love with him and...

Well, considering what he wrote, "House of Mouse" is much better... but yeesh, it's like seeing one of his twisted dreams come true!

I have encountered several really entertaining crossovers, and also some awful ones (no names mentioned here.)

In my opinion, a crossover can work if the meeting of characters affords interesting 'compare and contrast' opportunities. But when the writer throws some favorite characters together *just* so they can share an adventure, it usually makes a gratingly sub-par story.

The various Cartoon Network promo's/bumpers showing all the stars interacting with one another or used together in some tune is one of the best parts of watching the network and its commercials.
