Any Other Details That You'd Like To Add? (If So, Write Away!)
I Will Try To Find The Best Anime For You.
What Do You Like About Movies/TV?
I like shows with comedy, action, or basically anything, as long as it's interesting. When it comes to anime, a mix of all three is even better. :D
Do You Enjoy Intellect In Your Entertainment, Prefer Insanity Or Belong Somewhere In Between?
I prefer somewhere inbetween. Pure insanity can be confusing, and too much intellect can get boring, but when the two are mixed well it can make a great show.
What Are Your Favorite Movies/TV Shows?
My favorite movie... hrm, I've never been that great at listing off my favorite movie. Usually I just see a movie and think it was either great or awful.
List All The Anime You Can Remember Seeing And Liking.
Dragonball
Dragonball Z
Blue Sub #6
Tenchi in Tokyo
Tenchi Universe
Gundam 0080
Gundam Wing: Endless Waltz
Yu Yu Hakusho
Love Hina
Trigun
Inuyasha
Outlaw Star
G Gundam
Cowboy Bebop (This one got me interested in anime full-time.)
What Genre Do You Prefer?
I like action. Lots of action, but not as much as Gundam 0083 where there's not enough room for anything else. Comedy is a very close second, it was hard to decide between the two.
Are You Looking For Something Mainstream, A Little Less Known, Or Do You Simply Not Care?
I don't care at all.
Choose An Age Group: 10-14, 15-16, 17-19, 20-22, 23+.
I'm 13 years old.
State A Few Of Your Personality Traits.
I like to watch a good fight, but I prefer not to take part in it if I don't have to. I'm interested in programming and other boring computer stuff like that. There's probably a whole lot more I could list here, but I have to go now.

What Do You Like About Movies/TV? - The genre doesn't make a difference to me. The first thing that I look for is how original the idea is. The show might be hugely popular, but if the premise feels old to me, I won't like it as much as the "little cult show" doing new exciting things.
Do You Enjoy Intellect In Your Entertainment, Prefer Insanity Or Belong Somewhere In Between? - Both. It depends on my mood, really.
What Are Your Favorite Movies/TV Shows? - Anime Movie: Tenchi Muyo In Love and Galaxy Express 999 Adeiu. TV: Dragon Ball (not DBZ), Ranma 1/2, and Haibane Renmei. Other Movie: Throw Mama From the Train. TV: Invader Zim, The Simpsons, Andy Richter Controls the Universe.

Do You Enjoy Intellect In Your Entertainment, Prefer Insanity Or Belong Somewhere In Between?

anything that causes any sort of emotional response. except for disgust. anything powerful enough to actually stir any sort of emotion in me is deserving of respect

How about this? Whatever is your 'top' recommendation for me, I will go out and buy it over the weekend....and if I like it, kudo's to you. If I don't like it...I hunt you down and slaughter you like the fool you are!!!! woo! Lets get to it! :p
What Do You Like About Movies/TV?
I love it when all things are incorporated...action, romance, comedy, drama, suspence, horror. I especially like an eerie atmosphere, and spuratic wit. Comical scary-ness is a plus. Preferably intelectual over special effects oriented.
Do You Enjoy Intellect In Your Entertainment, Prefer Insanity Or Belong Somewhere In Between?
Well...with those options...in between. Intellect is good, but I love the lack of sanity.
What Are Your Favorite Movies/TV Shows?
Movies: Evil Dead trilogy, Die Hard trilogy, Harry Potter, Ghostbusters, etc.
TV: Uhhh....He-Man?
List All The Anime You Can Remember Seeing And Liking.
Cowboy Bebop.
Inu Yasha
Now and Then, Here and There
Princess Mononoke
Lupin III
Outlaw Star
Trigun
Tenchi
Vampire Hunter D
Ghost in the Shell
Armitage the III
Sailor Moon
Cardcaptor Sakura
Golden Boy
Revolutionairy Girl Utena
Utena: The Movie
DBZ: The Worlds Strongest
Bakuretsu Hunters
Big O
That's just off the top of my head.
What Genre Do You Prefer?
I like a little from each, honestly. I guess...in the end, lets go with Eerie atmospheric genre. Horror, twisted action, whatever. As long as something ain't right....
Are You Looking For Something Mainstream, A Little Less Known, Or Do You Simply Not Care?
Anime is as Anime does. As long as it's good, that's the only thing that matters to me.
Choose An Age Group: 10-14, 15-16, 17-19, 20-22, 23+.
17-19...I guess. Preferably of more mature nature...I guess?
State A Few Of Your Personality Traits.
Dark and Mysterious...jerk. ;)
Any Other Details That You'd Like To Add? (If So, Write Away!)
Everyone recommends to me 'X'. For some reason I've never tried it before...but I want to...they all say X is right up my alley. Either way, which is better...the movie or the series? Which should I get addicted to?
I Will Try To Find The Best Anime For You. [/B][/QUOTE]

What Do You Like About Movies/TV?
I like it when a television show or a movie can effectively communicate an important theme or "message" without sacrificing entertainment value. In my opinion the best television shows and movies are the ones that work on a few different levels. Which is not to say that I don't also like an occasional foray into pure entertainment for entertainment's sake, you understand.
Do You Enjoy Intellect In Your Entertainment, Prefer Insanity Or Belong Somewhere In Between?
Honestly I don't think there's much of a pattern to my viewing habits in that respect. I like highly intellectual entertainment that makes a point like The Exorcist, Fight Club, Waking Life, etc. but I also love totally random trip-fests like Aqua Teen Hunger Force and Sealab, as well as entertainment that falls in between.
What Are Your Favorite Movies/TV Shows?
The Simpsons, Batman: TAS, Clerks: TAS, Spawn: TAS, The Exorcist, Fight Club, Being John Malkovitch, Waking Life, Batman Beyond, Lord of the Rings, Dexter's Laboratory (first two seasons only), Powerpuff Girls (not the new 1/2 hour format though), Samurai Jack, Sealab 2021, Aqua Teen Hunger Force, Home Movies, Star Wars, South Park, many others....
List All The Anime You Can Remember Seeing And Liking.
Akira, Berserk, Dragonball Z, Vision of Escaflowne, Princess Mononoke, Ghost in the Shell, The Big O, Cowboy Bebop, Hellsing
What Genre Do You Prefer?
I prefer action with a healthy dose of drama. I'm not usually a fan of pure romance, comedy/romance, or pure comedy anime, although I like to have comedy mixed into my action (a la Cowboy Bebop) and I don't mind romance as long as it's coupled with good action and drama (a la Vision of Escaflowne or Princess Mononoke).
Are You Looking For Something Mainstream, A Little Less Known, Or Do You Simply Not Care?
Doesn't matter too much to me, although I've already seen many of the mainstream choices like Evangelion and Trigun (neither of which I particularly care for, although I can see their appeal with other people).
Choose An Age Group: 10-14, 15-16, 17-19, 20-22, 23+.

Hmm... kind of depends what company I'm in. I'm generally an optimist. I act on impulse a lot of the time, which sometimes gets me in trouble. I believe that emotional connections between people are what makes life worth living, and so I tend to get attached to people very quickly once I get to know them-- but I don't warm up to new people very quickly. Except for the exceptions, of course. (-: I believe it's important to stay flexible and not get tied down to ideas that you can't change. My motto is "always reserve the right to change your mind."

Yes, Love Hina is my new favorite. ^_^
And pabcool, you did a great job with your suggestions for me... Zoids: CC, I forgot to put in my list of what I had seen and liked, but thanks for reminding me about buying it on DVD... Outlaw Star Uncut and Big O, I already want. Judging by how accurate those choices were, I can't wait to try out one of the other shows you suggested for me! :)

I had a question regarding Cowboy Bebop and Escaflowne: I know that both have movies (Knockin' On Heaven's Door and A Girl In Gaea). I figured I'd be a hard one. (-: Of course, it doesn't help that I've already seen most of the obvious choices for me. I'm definitely looking forward to Wolf Rain, though, and I definitely agree that I need to check out more Studio Ghibli stuff, since all I've seen from them is Princess Mononoke, which I love beyond words.
Oh, and Avra, I couldn't give you any advice on Knockin' on Heaven's Door (since I haven't seen it) but I can tell you about Escaflowne: The Movie. First, it doesn't follow the continuity of the televison series, so you don't have to have seen the series to understand the movie. As to how good an introduction it makes, though... that depends on what you're interested in. The series explores a few different themes, some of them more science-fictiony, others more involved in the characters and their relationships. When they made the movie, they wisely realized that they couldn't cover all the same ground as they did in the series, so they focused much more specifically on a single part of the series, specifically, the main character's suicidal tendencies and how they figure into her romance with another of the main characters. Unfortunately, this was the aspect of the television show that I found the least interesting, so I didn't like the movie as much as the series (although it was still good-- the animation in the movie is MUCH better than in the series, although the series' animation is still good too).
Personally, I'd advise you to watch the series first, but some people might disagree with me. Unfortunately, the series gets off to a (relatively) slow start-- things don't pick up until around the second DVD, and they don't REALLY pick up until the third in my opinion. Not that the first DVD is bad by any means, but the third through about the fifth DVD is the definite high point in the franchise.
Hope that helped and didn't just confuse you even more. (-: I guess what I'm saying is that anything I've encountered with the word "Escaflowne" in it is good, but some Escaflownes are better than others, and which are better depends on who you ask. I guess in the end, the Escaflowne movie is a decent introduction to the series, as long as you bear in mind that the movie is missing a BIG chunk of what makes the series so great in many people's minds. Just because you don't like the movie doesn't mean you won't like the series, but if you DO like the movie, you're almost guaranteed to like the series at least as much.

Thanks. Little notes. Seen zoids on toonami its alright. I read the manga translations of dragon half and I am interested in it. Is there a series to it or just the movie. Turn a Gundam is the worst gundam series every. For the sake of gundam forget the fact that it exists. It will do us all good. :)
I actually read a review of Puni Puni Poemi and thought it was hentai. Or I may be mixing it up with a hentai title that copies it. Anyway just wondering where you put it.
*saw Samurai X. Great! Going to get the series when I can. Also saw one eps of Excel saga. Made no sense at all
Had them going to America to view the culture. Then they discuss Americans doing anime. Then the metion cg. Then the beat the bad guys who then come back and kill the poor kid. Wow.

Dragon Half Only Has A 2-Episode OVA TO It's Name. But Don't Let That Stop You. Most Fun With Super Deformed You'll Ever See, IMO.
Puni Puni Poemi Is A Merciless Satire Of Hentai. (Magical Girls As Well, With A Little OAV On The Side) As So, It's Fairly Level With Hentai In Terms Of Content, And Contains Scenes Which Are About On Par With NC-17 Films. Hell, It's An Excel Saga Spinoff, So That Alone Must Give You A Hint At Just How Insane, Mindless And Violent It Can Be At Times.

Do You Enjoy Intellect In Your Entertainment, Prefer Insanity Or Belong Somewhere In Between?

I'm partial to anything with humor, but otherwise I have no preference.
Are You Looking For Something Mainstream, A Little Less Known, Or Do You Simply Not Care?
I'm looking for mainstream but only because It'd probably be easier to find here in the sticks where I live.

State A Few Of Your Personality Traits.
Weird. Kinda a loner, but I don't mind hanging out with people, as long as they respect my space. I'm a little lazy, but at times I get off my *** and do something! I spend too much time on the net and hate myself for it.
Any Other Details That You'd Like To Add? (If So, Write Away!)I just started getting interested in anime, but I think I'm already hooked.

What a waste of time. :p
Appearantly I got caught in a bump, though I would have liked to see what they came up with. And I don't get to post in this section much.
I wonder if a thread of anime by catagory might be a good idea?

But you clicked "post reply" on a thread that is three years old, and people don't like when threads are bumped for some reason.
Because you can't even guarentee that the people who started them are even active or allowed on the forums any more. Besides, usually once a thread is old enough, it's reasonable to assume it's dead and that new conversation on the same topic can be started.
