Is "Along Came Daffy" considered a Yosemite Sam appearance? One of them looks like Sam but never really says his name. Would you consider this to be included in the Sam "canon" of shorts?

How about "Stage Door Cartoon" with the sheriff at the end? Is that the beginning adaptation of Sam or an early appearance?

IMO the redheaded character in "Along Came Daffy" is Yosemite Sam.

The sheriff in "Stage Door Cartoon" is a Sam prototype.

I, too, believe the red-haired twin is Yosemite Sam, but according to reference books, it's not. Sounds like him, though.

Maybe that's his Mexican cousin in "Pancho's Hideaway".

What reference books? Beck and Friedwald's guide does indeed list Yosemite Sam in "Along Came Daffy."

...though in "Along Came Daffy" it's the black haired character that got Sam's voice. The one with the red hair has one that's slightly deeper. Of course, when the cartoon was made Sam still qualified as a "one shot" character, since Friz didn't put him into regular rotation with Bugs until 1948.

Since were on the topic, would "This is a Life?" be considered a Sam/Daffy short?

Well the Internet Movie Database web site lists the voice credits for "This is a life?" as follows

Mel Blanc .... Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Yosemite Sam

http://us.imdb.com/Title?0048716

Plus, its including on the VHS tape- Yosemite Sam: Yeller Fever

So it must be, right?

Don't forget, Sam & Daffy had a brief interaction with Sam in A Star Is Boared. Daffy & Sam also both are in Blooper Bunny and Carrotblanca, but they don't have any scenes together.
