Mine are....

A WW2 cartoon show featuring the Private Snafu cartoons and other WW2 cartoon classics. Also a Superman (1940s) show, and a Friz Freleng show.

It'd be nice if CN would pick up a package of any of the following classic cartoons:

---The Pink Panther
---Woody Woodpecker
---Harveytoons (Casper, Herman & Katnip, etc.)
---Terrytoons (Mighty Mouse, Heckle & Jeckle, etc.)
---Columbia's TOTALLY TOONED IN! program (Mr. Magoo, Fox & Crow, etc.)

It'd also be nice if they'd pick up some good TV cartoons, like BEANY & CECIL or THE ALVIN SHOW.

Bugs Bunny Show (in original color as much as possible; all other areas computer-colorized). They can have more than 52 episodes of the show if they air some of the 70's/80's TV specials (like King Arthur's Court and Battle of the Music Video Stars).

Also, get rights to show Walter Lantz cartoons (until around late 1960's) and Pink Panther (before 1978).

Friz Freleng Show (done in style of Popeye/Bob Clampett Shows).

Show the 1940's Superman shorts more often on Acme Hour. They've shown them before, why not more often?

A WW2 show, with Snafu, Hook, Superman, Popeye, and war-themed MGM and Warner Brothers shorts.

-- The classic Lantz cartunes (1940's to 1970's)

-- DePatie/Freleng 60's MGM shorts

-- UPA shorts

Maybe they should make Sunday 7-11 a classic cartoon block. By the way who owns the rights to air Woody Woodpecker and other Lantz creations.

The Lantz cartoons currently aren't shown on any station in the United States. Universal owns the rights to the cartoons and has a syndication package available, which seems to have been broadcast in every country except the U.S.A.

I said it before and I'll say it agian, I think CN should pick up the following:

Lantz
DePatie-Freleng
Columbia
Iwerks

I also wish CN would run "Rocky and Bullwinkle" again (did they cancel it?) and "Underdog" which used to be on CN as well. And, like Thad, I'd like to see Beany and Cecil too (the animated one).

Rocky and Bullwinkle, Underdog, Dudley Do-Right, and Tennessee Tuxedo and His Tales are all currently shown on Boomerang.

Not really classics, but that's fun where CN airing these shows:

Ren & Stimpy
Beavis and Butt-Head (one of my best shows watching of the end 90's :) :p :D )
Daria (great show for Adult Swim :) )

I'll second THAT, dacp3! Best idea I've heard in awhile. The original Bugs Bunny Shows are truly "lost episodes" and well worth colorizing. I have a few on tape, but I'd love to see them all again.

Ah, happy childhood memories...:D

Can anybody remember any Iwerks studio cartoons besides the Comicolor fairytales ever shown on TV in their lifetime?

I'd like to see a Friz show-mostly to see more Sylvester & Tweety and maybe even more early LT's & MM's he animated/directed.

I'd really like to see LNB&W back & an hour long if they're only going to show it once a week. :bosko:

And of course, I'd be thrilled to see some good ole "cartunes" again!!

Beyond all that I'd pay a premium for a channel that only showed uncut theatrical cartoon shorts 24/7! Trouble is, I might have to cancel other activities such as sleeping, going to work, bathing, etc.

Some of my ideas include:

THE UB IWERKS SHOW- Just like the CHUCK JONES SHOW and the BOB CLAMPETT SHOW, CN could produce a series that features Ub Iwerks cartoons (but only those he produced in his own studio, not the ones he produced for Disney). It would feature Flip the Frog, Willie Whopper, and Comicolor cartoons. It would be nice if they showed them UNCUT as well.

SHHH! CARTOONS GO MUTE- This series would feature the silent cartoons such as Felix the Cat and Out of the Inkwell.

THE FOX AND CROW SHOW- Enough said. :D

THE WALTER LANTZ SHOW- Another series dedicated to a cartoon director. This would feature cartoons with Woody Woodpecker, Andy Panda, and other Lantz characters.

Regarding "TOTALLY TOONED IN" CN was negotiating for the series from Sony, but from what Jerry Beck has stated in the past, CN has not made an offer as of this writing. Here what would be good for CN(and Boomerang, for that matter) on picking up classic animated theatrical shorts and tv shows.

THEATRICAL SHORTS:
Terrytoons
Columbia
Harveytoons aka NOVELTOONS
Ub Iwerks
Universal
United Artists

TV SHOWS:
The Alvin Show
Linus The Lionhearted
Crusader Rabbit
Beany & Cecil
Uncle Waldo
King Leonardo And His Royal Short Subjects

I would like to see a show like that more than most anyting else. I've only seen one FAC cartoon - Mysto Fox.

The Banned Cartoon Show - nothing but the cartoons that they don't play such as Inki, Bosko, Censored 11, other questionables from all owned properties.

I'm not sure if I want "Totally Tooned In" specifically, I'd rather they just picked up the whole cartoon package and aired them at random like the other shows, you get more cartoons that way.

I'd love to see the Lantz and Pink Panther cartoons return to Cartoon Network or Boomerang, a lot of people miss those.

The above three packages are, IMO, the most likely ones to get back on TV again. They all have characters that are still popular and recognizeable. I'm not sure if Viacom would let CN have the Terry and Paramount cartoons, but I'd love to see it happen. Then they could air Mighty Mouse and nice looking versions of the Betty Boop Cartoons.

I'd also add the Harveytoon/Paramount package (now owned by Classic Media and featuring characters such as Casper, Baby Huey, Buzzy, Little Audrey, Herman & Katnip, etc.) to this list of those most likely to return to television someday.

A Friz Freleng Show would be good, if done properly and not like the Chuck Jones Show.
There are many classic cartoons from various studios that would be nice to see; numerous enough that a list is not necessary.

Showing that for a half-hour each week would be great!

True, but "Totally Tooned In" would be better than nothing.

I want a Friz Freleng show myself...but one with information on him, not like the horrible Chuck Jones show.

It features UPA cartoons (like Mr. Magoo and Gerald McBoing Boing), Screen Gems cartoons (like the Fox and Crow), as well as cartoons done by Charles Mintz and Ub Iwerks. Mostly stuff that hasn't really been on TV since the 50s. Columbia restored the cartoons a few years ago for TV distribution.

Here is a good place to read about it (http://www.cartoonresearch.com/columbia.html)

We can always email Cartoon Network to try to put the cartoons (and cartunes) on the network. So why don't we all email them.

P.S.: Thanks Jack for the info.
