I searched the forums for a thread like this but I couldn't find one, oh well.

Who are your Top Ten Favourite Bat Villians from the Animated Series?

Here are mine:
1.The Joker: Batman's greatest enemy indeed. The only one of the rogues gallery who truely struck a personal blow to the drak knight. In the comcis, Joker killed Robin II and crippled Babs Gordon. In the animated world, we all know what Mr. J did to poor Tim Drake in BB: ROTJ right? Poor poor Timmy. :( :(

2.Andrea Beaumont/The Phantasm: One of my favourites of all time. Andrea is one of the most tragic figures in Bruce Waynes past. Even through she only made one appearance in the animated world (MOTP), her persence in that movie was so strong that I had to put her on this list. A young woman driven to revenge because of the tragedy in her life.

3.Selina Kyle/Catwoman: This kitty kat has been suducing the Batman since the first time the two met. Fearless and wild, Catwoman has always been one step ahead of Batman, who on one hand wants to punish her for her crimes and one other is smitten by her beauty. :D :D

4.Oswald Cobblepot/The Penguin: Before her became a crime boss, Penguin ranked very low on my list of fav vllians. I like many others felt that ol' pengy's epiosdes in B:TAS were for the most part not that great. However now that Ozzy's a crime boss/refromed criminal, I love him to death. It's a treat to watch Batman go to the Penguin and bargin with him for info about another villian. :D

5.Ra's Al Ghul & Talia Head: The only villain who treats Batman as an equal, Ra's even wanted Bat's to wed his little girl Talia. Dark and Dangerous, Ra's Al Ghul is perhaps the wisest of all of Batman's enemies, a man who has lived for centuries and perhaps it is this wisdom that is "the Demons" ultimate weapon against Batman?

6.Harvey Dent/Two-Face: One of the most tragic of Batmans enemies. Harvey was once Bruce Wayne's best friend, a man who believed in justice just as much is Batman did. Then Dent snapped and became the criminal mastermind Two-Face, a man who decided justice on the flip of a coin. It's sad really, a great man like Harvey Dent trapped inside the mind of Two Face, a criminal siscopath. :(

7.Victor Fries/Mr. Freeze: Freeze is a sad guy. First he finds love in a beautiful love in a beautiful gal named Nora. Then Nora gets sick and o'l Victor tires everything to save girl. Then he becomes Mr. Freeze and commits crimes to earn money. Money needed to cure Nora. After years of work Freezes body finally gives out and he's stuck with only his head left functioning. The ironic thing is that if you read the animated comics, Nora Fries is eventually cured of her disease, only Mr Freeze will never be able to shave in his wifes happiness. :( :(

8.Scarface and the Ventriloquist: One of the most interesting villains ever created. The Ventriloquist and and Scarface are two different personalities. While the Ventriloquist may not really be evil, scar face is the dominate personality and controls him. Would've ranked higher on my list, but I think he's a rip off of Two Face.

9.Pamela Isley/Poison Ivy: Seducative and very chaming, Ivy is a deadly foe to the Batman. With her evil plants she could've made Gotham her garden, if only Batman wasn't a thorn at her side

10. Harlene Quinzelle/Harley Quinn: Wacky and nearly as crazy has her puddin the Joker, Harley really is a fun character. Created by the brilliant Paul Dini, Ms. Quinzelle packs a punch for Batman but usually ends up falling heads over heels for him. :p

Hmm, I'm going across the animated Bat spectrum here...

1. Joker - No doubt. Perfect VA and a wonderful script.
2. Harley Quinn - Scrumptious chemistry with Mr Jay, a strong likeable character with that cute, cheeky and frankly deadly streak...
3. Selena Kyle *meow* :D
4. Mad Stan - He only really seems to do cameos, but he is a delightfull amusing villain with no attempt to disguise the fact he IS simply Henry Rollins.. :D
5. Inque - Dangerous, seductive and slippery.I have always seen her as the most effective BB villain.
6. Mr Freeze - Tragic and offers some great storylines. Booming VA with is very effective.
7. Andrea Beaumont - I suppose she is a villain and I think she played a wonderful part in Bruce's downfall - so yeah she's here!
8. Ventriloquist - I don't see this as a two face rip off. I think the underlying need to use the dummy seperates him very differently from Two Face..
9. Ra's Al Ghul - Because he's always so epical in the Animated series with big memorable stories. He makes an impact, even if I'm not a massive fan. Plus he pulls Bats out of his turf which is good for him!
10. Blight - Radioactive - would make a great halloween costume! :D

Ventriloquist - I don't see this as a two face rip off. I think the underlying need to use the dummy seperates him very differently from Two Face.

What I meant was that Ventriloquist and Scarface are two seperate personalities with one stronger and controlling the other. Just like Harvey Dent and Two-Face, two personalities in one body. Only difference I see is that Scarface is a dummy and Two-face isn't.

1. Joker

Truly a genius, he is truly Batman's archenemy. The Joker continually test Batman's patience in his crusade against Batman, Gotham, and the Police. It's not enough to just "kill" Batman, he wants to break his spirit.

2. Two-Face

Whenever a case deals with Face it's always personal seeing as how Batman blaims himself for his current condition. Not only that Face can be pretty ruthless and cunning at times.

3. Poison Ivy

Ivy has also struck at both Bruce Wayne and Batman. He may not have shown it but the encounter in Chemistry must have hurt. Ivy is also very dangerous seeing as how she loves plants and has no love for humans.

4.Ra's Al Ghul

Ghul's a double threat to Batman seeing as how he has a huge global operation and he knows Batman's identity. Whenever Ra's is behind a plot the world is always on the line.

5. Scarecrow

The Crow is one Bat's most twisted villians. He gets great joy out of his twisted little experiments, unfortunately, Gotham is usually where he gets his volunteers. Not only that he has attacked both Bruce Wayne and Batman as seen in his debut ep.

6. Catwoman

Catwoman's greatest strength is her unpredictability. U never know whether she's with you, agaisnt you, or both. Not only that she always seems to get Batman's trust, even when he knows better.

7. Mad Hatter

Like the Crow, the Hatter can unknowingly attack both Bruce and Batman. If he were more ruthless he would be quite a dangerous foe.

8. Penguin

The Penguin is the only villian to truly "eat" at Batman. Batman knows he's a crook but can't do anything about it. Living well IS the best revenge.

9. Bane

Besides being one of the few physical challenges in the Rogue's Galary, Bane is extremely intelligent. The combination of intelligence and strength makes him particularly dangerous foe.

10. Harley Quinn

Like Catwoman, Batman continually second-guesses her which combined with her fanatical loyalty to the Joker makes her a notable foe.

1. The Joker
Need I say more? He's not always the most thoughtful villain - some of his themes are really lame - but he always gives the Bat a tough time regardless, whether he's killing thousands or just trying to get him to crack a smile.

2. Two-Face
Just as ruthless and cunning as the Joker (if not moreso), he and Batman are tied on a very personal level. That, and considering Dent was once Gotham's poster boy for truth, justice, and the American way, it makes him all the more tragic. His ties in Gotham run deep, and his intelligence and insanity make him very formidable.

3. Scarecrow
A true whacko that preys upon the weaknesses of his victims and exposes them. He's another grand-scale villain that likes to bring a city to its knees - and his schemes always are grand-scale. He's also very intelligent (book smart, anyway) and is always one step ahead of Batman.

4. Ra's Al Ghul
Another grand-scale villain - he's threatened the entire world for at least 600 years now - and knows Batman personally. The reachn of his evil empire is very wide, he's an excellent fighter, and he's also very intelligent.

5. Catwoman
Though she's truly an anti-hero, she's still on the wrong side of the law enough to be considered a villain. She's very intelligent, athletic, and her closeness to the Dark Knight allows her to strike against him when he least expects it. She never tries to level the city or anything, so she's not terribly dangerous - but she is a master thief and will never take sides for anyone. This independence of hers makes her a force to be reckoned with - if her ideals don't meet your own.

6. Bane
He's probably the only human on the planet that realistically has the strength to take out the Bat with his bare hands. On top of that, his cold, calculating mind and cool demeanor keep a level head on his shoulders at all times. He's not the type to internally collapse when his plans self-destruct around him.

7. Mr. Freeze
Very lethal and dangerous at times, but only if you get in the way of him and his wife. That freeze gun of his really packs a punch, and you can't discount his strength, mind, and knowledge of science when concocting criminal schemes.

8. Poison Ivy
Not as lethal as previously mentioned, but her knowledge of chemistry and biology make her a threat. Not only that, but what man can resist those luscious lips?

9. The Penguin
He never goes out on his own to commit any fellonies, but his connections to the Gotham underworld make him untracable and, therefore, quite dangerous. Very rarely is he interested in anything other than stealing pretty things, but it's only a matter of time before he goes back to his more dangerous dealings.

10. The Riddler
His mind alone makes him a formidable villain. Batman and his crew seem to be the only ones capable of taking on the Riddler and unraveling his schemes. Usually they involve revenge of some type, so he always poses a threat to the populous; that, and he's just nuts to begin with.

Honourable mentions:
-The Mad Hatter
-Clayface
-Harley Quinn
-Killer Croc
-The Ventriloquist

Why don't you think Ivy is as lethal as mentioned?

I put Ivy below the others because she's not as bloodthirsty as the freaks like Joker, Two-Face, Scarecrow, etc, etc...she just loves plants. Of course, her plants are rather lethal and formidable, but I haven't really seen her do all too much with them that puts a city at peril. That's how I put her lower on the list, but definitely in the top ten.
