Mickey, Daffy and Bugs? Oh my!

Here's a little snippet from a recent article about Disney's plans to expand in China (http://www.ireland.com/newspaper/world/2001/0901/wor15.htm) . It gave me a chuckle so I though I'd pass it along...

The chief executive of Walt Disney, Mr Michael Eisner, has confirmed that he is looking at bringing Mickey Mouse, Daffy Duck and Bugs Bunny to mainland China, which is rapidly becoming more Western than the West itself.

Hmm... I'd guess that the writer apparently can't tell Disney and WB apart. Or China and the west either... ;)

Hm...actually, I dunno if this thing will work...
...because most times a major coporation tried to get into Asia, they fialed miserably. And I think that was McDonald's that tried that...
....and if they still consider Hong Kong a seperate part; despite the fact that China is becoming more "west than the west", I think they WILL fail...

....I will be following this with great intrest...
